Another LS/Vtec Build

It's about time I start my own thread of my build so you guys can keep me on track and get this done in a timely fashion I decide do an all motor lsvtec build since feb. of 2006 and thats when I bought my gsr head and I've fallin off track alot since then but decided to finally start finishing this bad boy up If anyone has any suggestions or comments let me know and I am by no means a professional engine builder this is my 3rd motor build but first time I'm doing it all by myself Mod List/Plans Top End Gsr Head Skunk2 Pro1 Camshafts* " " Cam Gears* " " Valves/ Springs/Retainers* " " Intake Manifold* LHT Stock T/B bored out to 64mm* Maybe a mild P&P* Maybe a 3 angle valve job* Golden Eagle LS/Vtec Kit* ARP Headstuds* RC 370cc Injectors Bottom End LS Block STD Bore LS Crank LS Rods OEM Bearings* P30 Pistons ARP rod bolts GSR oil pump GSR water pump All new Gaskets* * means I dont have it yet As you can see I'm doing the bottom end first and then working on the head when I'm done Pictures It all started with this The Valve Cover was nasty so I painted it Then I got this Water Pump Oil Pump Yes I like to take pics of EVERYTHING and the blurry pics were taken before I bought a new camera If anyone was curious I'm a senior in highschool working part time at the honda dealership as a porter for $8 an hour and I get paid every two weeks so one paycheck is for bills and the other is for goodies every month PRICE LIST Gsr head $400 LS Block Bare $100 LS Crankshaft $125 LS Rods $10(I bought a complete LS shortblock for $150 took the rods and pistons and sold the block for $140) ARP rod bolts $30 Type R Oil pump $100 Type R water pump $70 P30 Pistons, wrist pins, and rings $300 RC 370cc Injectors $180 Skunk2 Racing Camshafts Pro1 series $569.53 Skunk2 Racing Valve Set (Stock Sized) $276.64 Skunk2 Racing Titanium Retainers $180.88 Skunk2 Racing Adjustable Cam Gears - Red $191.52 Skunk2 Racing Valve Spring Set $196.84 So far $2,730 Modified by crxowner at 6:09 PM 2/26/2007 Modified by crxowner at 7:53 PM 2/27/2007 Modified by crxowner at 7:08 AM 2/28/2007 Modified by crxowner at 7:10 PM 3/13/2007

what will ur basic bolt ons consist of? if u havnt already decided...short-ram with bPi flowstack and a good header like rmf/smsp would be

Nice setup. But by the looks of the "*"s then you've got quite a bit of work ahead of ya. I'm getting in this thread to see what this setup with the Pro 1s makes for power. Just out of curiousity.

As far as bolt- ons I'd like to say something like a rage or rmf header but it might end up being my dented dc 4-1 header until I get more money

And yea I just realized thats theres a bunch of "*", I think a couple grand worth so its gonna be a long build/ thread

Remember, don't set a WHP goal in mind. Dyno numbers mean next to nothing these days.

I painted the valve cover with krylon wrinkle finish

I hear ya on the dyno numbers but it'd still be really nice to see 200whp but nothing evr seems to go as planned

lol thanks guys, I've been reading on this for about two years before I made my final decision. And yea my parents let me build it in my room

Be careful with the ctr pistons just make sure to do a hell of a lot of research

Looks good man. The only thing I see wrong is the hone job, there is no cross hatch. Good luck with the rest of the build

Eh, I'm not too worried about the hone I may get it redone in the future if I have extra cash lying around

My brother brought a new car so I'm taking over the old one(EK with CTR) and I just sold my car an hour ago.
