Make an AL plate with the bolt pattern of the turbine inlet flange. Drill and tap a hole in the center of it to accept some sort of fitting. I recommend NOT tapping it to just accept the fitting that hooks into the back of your welder. The rubber hose kind of um....melts off Yeah I learned that one the hard way. To save on argon you could cut the WG hole before welding the flange, stuff a ball of tinfoil up the weld el to keep the argon from flowing through the entire manifold and allow your purge to exit through a small hole in the piece of tinfoil I forgot to mention you should put over the already drilled WG hole.

I think I just won the award for longest run on technical sentance or sentence however the hell you spell it lol.

PS you really need to start welding in two passes. It appears you are laying a LOT of heat down to get any sort of penetration.

I saw this manifold in person, and it is beautiful. Very nice for a new design, and I am sure perfection will be reached after a few have been made, but an A+ unit none the less. Bryson is the man.

Thanks man! Yeah, I decided to go to PFI after work today to show Brent. We decided to see if his 42R would fit on a spare LS motor they have sitting around. It ended up hitting the block, but It looks like if I rotated the 90 off the collector just a little bit, it would fit just perfect. I wish I could have taken a couple pics! The huge turbo hanging off the manifold was pretty impressive...lol. The 40R however, we found to fit perfectly on there.

my buddy has a manifold that looks nearly identical to this on his DSM. it was made by AMS (automotosports). i was wondering when this design would carry over to hondas. looks good

edit: i lied, not identical, same tube design, although turbo placement is on the left rather than the right.

Yup. My buddy has a 1st gen DSM street car that will receive this same style of manifold. He'll be running a GT40 as well, and competing in the sprwd class.

Really nice looking manifold. A few more tweaks and should be ready for production. Any eta on when we can purchase one?

Thanks. I don't have an exact date, but more than likely within the next 3 weeks.

i dont know alot about how turbo mani's react to heat....but we use heim joints on almost every suspension point on our late model dirt car and i will sat this THEY DO NOT ALOW FOR FLEX IF THEY ARE IN GOOD CONDITION....if you are using heim joints and you are aware of the fact that manifolds contract and expand during heat cycles then why bother useing them to support your turbo???i like the design but it does put alot more stress on the pipe compared to others...am i wrong???, it seems like you would need to use a heim on the turbo and then for the block a rubber mount that has the ability to move about 3/16 fairly eisily and after that it would get as stiff as a solid mount......if you would like to try it i have these "bushings" redily availible....they have a 3/8 in. bolt hole and about 1 1/16 mount hole...they halve a flange on them that is 3/8 but i dont see it being a problem!!!!!! if you would like to try one let me know

ps.... i build skidloaders and these bushings are what we use for the motor mounts and the rops/fops(the cab) mounts they are iso certified and fire retardent

The brace would look almost identicle to this (F1):

I think it provides more than enough articulation, but holds the dead weight of the turbo off the manifold.

i like to see something new....everyone is giving you criticism about it which is good...as soon as you work out all the little kinks, this will be a pretty sweet manifold!

i like how the waste gat is i dont think this manifold will have creeps or spikes at all due to air hitting that spot to go down into the turbo looks good.

It's allowing a free flow of argon through the actual pipe your welding, so the back of the joint doesn't get contaminated from ambient air.

Depending on how a person sets this up, it can get fairly expensive, and wasteful. I think I've found a regulator that will help me finalize the method I want to keep using.

Nice design and very unique. Most of the post I’ve read in here are the same old style with very little tweekness. But, yours stands out the most of all. Lots of fabricators will question and add their 2 cent theory of “what should and shouldn’t be done,” don’t let it stop you. I’m more interested in dyno graphs and the outcome on the 3-6-9-12 month period. Again, very nice setup. Keep us posted on the work.

Thanks! It's going to take me a while to get ready to start selling these, but I hope to be selling them at the latest by May. I've been really busy right now with my day job, and finishing up my degree, so I want to wait until I have a little more time to devote to my manifold hobby.

It will be perfect. I don't build crap. I'm working right now on getting my skills down so I can get 100% penetration welds with a consistant look. It's pretty hard to acheive with the thick sch40 stuff. I don't know how much of a discount I could give ya...but shipping does cost me an arm and a leg.

Thanks man!

Getting closer to the point in which I can start selling these. I'm still having some vendor issues with my raw materials not showing up on time, but that should all be solved within the month. I'm hoping I can start selling them by May 1st.
