Same for me
Buzzes (at half volume) when driving with headlights on. When indicator is used, the buzzer pulses.

Did you find a solution? Was it caused by a blown fuse elsewhere?

Seems a shame to remove -- soldered wires neatly and with nice heatshrink and everything...

anyone do this and have a quiet buzzing when the heater is on.
i got one of these on ebay for a dollar a few years ago and loved it, but when it got cold outside i put on my heater and it started beeping. when the heater is off nothing, when it's on there is a quiet beep coming from it.
i unplugged it for the winter then put it back in in the summer. then last winter i just took the damn thing out. anyone know where i'm getting feedback from.
or what i can do to make it stop?

just hook up wires this way...http://www.fourthgenhatch.net/headlightbuzzer.html
its very simple if you just want to hook up the buzzer in under 5 mins.

Ive noticed that different buzzers funtion differently. I had one that wouldnt work with this method, but it did work when connected to the right combo of fuses. the peizo is for sure gonna work.

Okay, here's what I used:

Mini Piezo Buzzer 3-16V

Specifications:
- Operating voltage: 3- 16VDC
- Rated: 12VDC
- Freq: 3.3kHz
- Max current at 12V: 15mA
- Max sound output: 90dB
- 22mm dia,holes 30mm,height 12mm
- Supplied with flying leads.

This morning, I kept the headlights on and warmed up the car-- complete silence. Good, I thought. It's working now.

Then I drive about 1/2 mile and it starts buzzing at low volume. Sometimes it would stop when I had to stop at a yield or a redlight.

Anyway I'm gonna check all fuses like the OP suggested, and if they check out ok will get those clip on connectors and bridge the fuses.

Thanks everyone.

Default Headlamp buzzer

Is this faint buzzing with the lights ON, or OFF?

I have some possible solutions for either, but.....

I've already got a headlight warning buzzer. Not sure if it was installed together with the alarm. There's some wires going to a fuse or two.

Now, how do I hook the fog lights up to this? In Norway we have to drive with lights all day, and I keep forgetting the fog lights (the steering wheel is blocking my view of the fog light switch ).

Try re-wiring your foglights to your headlight wires. That way when you turn your lights on your fog lights are on & vice versa with off. But i Was just thinkin about how to do this about 30 minutes ago.. lol. Its a great idea!

WOW! It worked great. The fuse way may work, but why would anyone do it!? It kind of looks sloppy. Great thread

I found some scrap wire with connecters already attached, bought a $3.50 buzzer @ circuit city, and borrowed a soddering iron and some sodder. Worked like a charm!!!

I used a radio shack 12v piezo... 75db about the size of 2 or 3 stacked nickels.

Connect the power lead. Ground to chasis instead of the other ground lead. Doing so made a huge difference in my car. Emitted full sound, and 75 db is plenty loud (about like a microwave timer).

I just wanted to mention, just recently I had some tranny work done. Ever since, my headlight beeper has been turning on when i shift into reverse. I'm guessing it has something with the neutral safety switch. and today it stayed on until i hit the rear defroster switch(which is related to the fusebox connections).
just a weird observation. I'm kinda curious if anybody has figured out exactly what these connections are for?

also these connections just dont work for the beeper for some people, I wonder what it is, an option, or like rear wipers?

I have mine setup like in the first post and it doesn't work unless I have the rear defrosted enabled. I shut off the car with the lights on, buzzer was working, shut off the rear defroster and it stopped buzzing, heh.

No telling what's been done to this car in the past but it seems to have had an autostarter on it because I don't have to push in the clutch to crank the car. I just leave the defroster on.

i only paid 4.00 for mine at radio shack and it works perfect but they only thing is that it's very loud and obnoxious so i've wrapped it with electrical tape and now it's quieter and sounds better. i highly recommend it.
