Im Francesco (Frank), I was always the young one in the s2000 group, but now im growing up. I just turned 21 and bought my first s2000 when I was 18. I sold my first car for more than it was worth, and because of that I was able to make the down payment for my first s2000. I work two jobs and go to school fulltime.
I hate college with a passion, but its because I dont have a major or career path. It seems like the more the days go by, I get more and more confused about life. Well I have to go to work now, so ill add to this later. 1. I work on my car. The only thing I can not do is alignments, which I now get my friend to do since hes an alignment tech, and im not able to build motors from the ground up. 2. I tracked my old ap1 in the 1/4 mile, never on a race tract with turns. My berlina has never been tracked, but I have intentions to enter a time attack once I feel the car is ready and I wll do well. 3. My mods have made me feel a dramtic increase in the cars performance. My suspension may not be oober stiff like some others, but the car is pretty stiff and takes turns very well. 4. My car is getting to the point where its not daily driver friendly anymore. I cant pull up driveways because im too low and I dont want to mess up the Tai front. Its starting to get sensative to the weather and its draws attention on the roads. 5. Quality matters the most in aftermarket. If something is made well its going to perform well. You can afford any part for this car if you save your money. Each car is different though, so what works for me might not do the same for you. |

My name is Zach, I am 18 years old (soon to be 19). This is my first car *flamesuit on* and it is also my first love. I was the biggest noob and ignorant little punk for the first few months or so (like so many others lol). I finally grew up and have come to the realization that this board is to better my learning. My goal is to own my own motorsport company and make aftermarket parts (I currently have designs for parts and am looking to produce them soon).
1) My only scheduled maintence repair has been done by Honda because I have only put a few thousand miles on it in two years. The next one will be done by myself but it makes things difficult when you don't own any tools. 2) I have not tracked it yet, and i yearn to do it. Most likely this summer I will have my first track encounter. 3) I don't think I qualify to answer this question but my opinion is that most quality parts will. 4) My mods are purely for my enjoyment only. I could care less what other people think and therefore I mod accordingly. I changed my exhaust because I wanted sound. X-brace and tie-bar are on for my very occasional spirited canyon driving but will ultimately be useful when I visit the track. Tires are the most important aspect of my driving and I am very partial to OEM SO2s. 5) What matters most to me about aftermarket parts is Quality, Appearance, and price. My name is Wes, Im 19 years old and a soldier in the army. I bought my s2k a few days after I returned from Iraq. I traded my 06 civic ex for the s and I have been happy ever since.
1) I do all my maintenance because of the fact I dont trust anyone but myself. If I have a problem with the S I will bust out the service manual or just search on here or s2k. 2) None, I want to but I don't think that I know enough to do it safely. 3) I dont know... I havent really started modding yet. I have other things that come first... My wife 4) Well I did upgrade the stero just so that I can have a mp3 player, but other then that I dont think its really a mod, its a nice upgrade ![]() 5) Quality and Gains

Man. I faded you foools when it came to such a lyrical battle.
My intensified words did nothing but made your silly lookin' heads rattle Anywho, hahaha my intro: Name: Don Tran Age: 21 Location: So Cal San Diego Daily Grind: Speed Shop Operator and full time student by day, Insurance Open Claims Representative by night. Car: AP1 SSM Previous Whip: Mugenized EG-2 Del Sol (B16 Powered) Track Events: None. I would love to though, so I can expand my skills and utilize what I do not know when it comes to "driving" my car. I've never pushed her to the limit before because I'm a bitch and I know she is more capable of doing what she does best lol. With future track events set forth, I am hoping to be able to know my boundaries and limits of this car. I want to know when to much is too much. My Specialty: Wheels. I am one of the few Wheel Gurus on here and s2ki. I can tell you what can or cannot fit when it comes to size, offsets, and tire sizing off the top of my head. Conservative or aggressive offsets, just let me know. I've experienced many set offsets before, so this is not new to me. You want more rubber? More lip? More brake clearance? You want to see if you can get secondary changes to the face? look no more. I'm your person. Modified by OBSeRiouSo at 6:55 PM 1/21/2007

Meh all you Cali-boys...
I'll add to this anyway. My name is Travis and am orginally from NoVA right outside DC. I pretty much spent all my time in high school building/restoring my Dad's 1969 Volvo P1800, which if you don't know pretty much looks like a Honda S800 except the size of the current S. When I was working on the car I was working for a goverment contracting company doing IT work. I was able to save up my money to by a 1997 Integra, LS I continued working my ass off just to do a VTEC swap and have some "real" power haha. But finally it was time for college and I took my scholarship to Kettering University (GMI) and ran with it. I was in Flint, Michigan for about a year becoming a Mechanical Engineer and decided it wasn't where I wanted to be or where I wanted to be going. The school's female population was horrible, and the teachers were really out of date (teaching old-school GM technology, you can ask me more about that if you want to know). I came back home and started working again to save up for something else, my main goal being to open up my own shop. Meanwhile I took the money I had saved from before college and dumped it into the Integra. I built the bottom-end completely and put on a T3/T4 turbo. Tuned on Hondata S300 by InlinePRO and I was making 225/220 to the wheels. I spent what was leftover on a bare ITR head with plans to put that on soon. I managed to save up a lot of money over the past year and decided that if I were going to open up a shop I needed to get some certifications. I went to visit UTI outside of Philly and they really do offer a great program. So I signed up for it and went back home until the program started. I bought the rest of the parts I needed to complete my ITR head and do an LS/VTEC swap and the weekend before I was going to put it all on my Integra, it was stolen. Found completely stripped in MD the next day. I had receipts for all the parts I had bought and walked away from insurance with 10k. Walked into a used dealership the next day to look at an 80k miles 00 Silverstone S2k. Offered 12k and drove off into the sun. (They were asking 15k) Now I am in the Philly area with my new S2k and couldn't be happier, except the shitty weather. I plan on tracking my S regularly as I did with my Integra at Summit Point in WV.

1. First off my name is Chris im 27 and I do all my own work and have been a mechanic for Ford (job security) for 6 years. Until about 8 months ago I started working for Toyo plant here in Ga. And yes I get RA1's at half off but limited to 10 tires a year.....But im thinking of going back to working on cars for a living again.....
2. I havent been able to Track the S in about 6 months but im getting ready for the upcoming Time Attack at south Carolina in a couple months...... 3. My mods have helped but the car really just needs a few things from the factory such as tires, shocks and or coilovers.... 4. The S is still my daily for now but i have an Ej1 in the works right now and driving daily being as low as I am really sucks but I would never change it!!! 5. The Price of some parts suck but I look at it this way U pay for what u get...And most import is the Quality of the part!!!!!!!

Nice thread,
Let me introduce myself. My real name is Kalvis and I am 20, I come from Latvia. Actually I don't post very often, but read a lot in here. So I thought this would be nice place to introduce myself. I currently own MY2001 AP1 red. Unfortunately more than year ago I blew the engine. Decided to go turbo, but still haven't gotten all the needed parts, hopefully I will be able to put it together in this summer. Oh, and the answers 1) Lets start easy: Who does your regular scheduled maintenance? You? Dealer? Trusted "friends" shop? Any random shop? "Maintenance?" When the car was new dealer did all the maintenance work, but now I do it myself or I could even say that for the past year nobody have done it. 2) How many of you track your S? How often? I did some track driving, when the engine was still o.k., nothing serious, no competition just some track fun. Thought about doing some more serious tracking, but unfortunately cars engine blew up. 3) Do you think your mods actually make a difference in terms of performance and lap times? I think they can, but as S@nt0s already said, it is the driver who makes the difference. 4) Those that don't frequent the tracks, do your mods suit the purpose of a daily driver? Wheels excluded. Before my engine problem I had Mugen I/H/E. In mid range the car pulled really stronger. And after installing the Mugen SS front bumper car felt a lot better at speed. But those gains were not the best bang for the buck. 5) When you look into an aftermarket part, what matters more? Choose between: Quality Engn |

Hi, names Brad im 20 and im in the Air Force stationed at Ft Meade MD.
1) Lets start easy: Who does your regular scheduled maintenance? You? Dealer? Trusted "friends" shop? Any random shop? "Maintenance?" Havnt had to have any done yet since ive only had it for about 2 months, but when I do go to get it done I will go to my shop Import sports in glen burnie. 2) How many of you track your S? How often? Like I said only have had it for a few months so im still getting used to it and havnt tracked it yet. 3) Do you think your mods actually make a difference in terms of performance and laptimes? I would assume so. 4) Those that don't frequent the tracks, do your mods suit the purpose of a daily driver? Wheels excluded. All I have is intake, so yes! 5) When you look into an aftermarket part, what matters more? Choose between: Quality Service Price Availability Advertised gains Popularity. Definatley quality and price!

Age: 24 Daily grind: Credit Analyst @ Monster Cable 1) Lets start easy: Who does your regular scheduled maintenance? You? Dealer? Trusted "friends" shop? Any random shop? "Maintenance?" ![]() - Me 2) How many of you track your S? How often? - Not yet but plan to. Right now, its more fun doing trackdays on my bike 3) Do you think your mods actually make a difference in terms of performance and laptimes? - the shocks smooths the ride out which is great since my car is a DD 4) Those that don't frequent the tracks, do your mods suit the purpose of a daily driver? Wheels excluded. - Well....I guess. All I have done is Koni Yellows/Eibach springs and a full audio system. Konis/eibachs will come in handy when I do go to the track. I am most likely done with modding the car for now since I'm trying to buy a house and might possibly sell the S to get a more DD friendly car (+ I miss my old bimmer) 5) When you look into an aftermarket part, what matters more? Interesting that I stumbled across this.
Here goes... Name: Skyler Spartan Age: 24 Location: Springfield, MO Daily Grind: I'm the Hub Coordinator for AutoZone in Springfield, MO. We service 11 stores in 2 states, and we see to it that each store recieves parts that they need that they don't normally stock in their store. Our store carries about 3000 extra SKU's that our other stores don't. I'm also responsible for our in-store inventory both incomming, and outgoing. I have a crew of myself and 3 others including an assistant Hub Coordinator, and 2 drivers. Car: Berlina Black AP1 Previous Whip: '94 Civic DX Hatch Track Events: SCCA SoloII experience, including my Championship win of the OMR DSP class for 2003 in my Red '94 del Sol VTEC in my Rookie year. My Specialty: Suspension. I've always been good with that, and electronics. I just prefer suspesion, so I accel in it. I'm currently researching what coilover suspension to purchase for my 2K.

As for maintenance and such, I do all of my own work. My father owns a repair shop so I have access to all the lifts/air tools and such. Daily Grind, I'm an IT guy for a Financial company. I'm 24 and live in sunny (well most of the time) Florida. On average, I keep a car for .85 of a year but I owned my ITR (first one) for a year and a half and my GS-R prior to that for about 2 years. I've only had the S for about 5 months now. I love it except for when I need to carry stuff like towers and such. 1.) I currently have not tracked my S, but plan to if I keep the car. 2.) As for mods, I only have the ZEX Nitrous setup on the car. I haven't taken the car to a drag strip yet but hope for high 12's. 3.) Hell no, NOS on the street is pointless. 4.) Aftermarket Parts, well availability is key along with quality and performance. |

I'm Justin and I'm originally from San Diego, now live in Maryland right outside DC. I'm 19 and was 18 when I bought my S. Yes, the insurance is murder. I'm an assistant manager at Verizon Wireless. My car is stock because I autocross, not really any good though. It's also my daily so I want to wait and get something else before I really start anything.
I haven't tracked my S yet, just autocross. I should be going down to VIR in Feb. I haven't had to do any maintenance yet besides oil changes, but I do those myself. I don't have much mechanical experience, but I'm learning from my friend's dad. My previous car was an 03 RSX Type S. I grew up riding Honda dirtbikes and progressed to their cars.
