Krank Vents - More HP/$$$ than JDM

Krank Vents - More HP/$$$ than JDM
Here's the dyno of a very new AP2 with a baseline and the krank vents installed immediately afterwards:
Red - Baseline
Blue - Krank Vent installed
The krank vents picked up 2-3whp all over the rpm range except at the very last 100rpm. It would have made even more HP if the car wasn't run back to back. The engine was hotter the krank vent run so that lowered the overall gains a bit. I think he could have gotten more HP if it was let to cool down to equivalent engine temps. Also if I had gotten a engine with higher milage and greater ring wear, it would have made even larger gains.
So, for $110 you not only get lowered oil consumption as realized by many people already, you also pick up a few ponies. Around the same as some intakes and exhausts that cost thousands
And for all the people who thought this didn't make any gains and was just a waste of money (even though everyone who bought one all felt a difference with their engine running smoother and the F/I guys had huge reduction in oil consumption)

i can make more gains than that without changing anything depending upon how i run the dyno pulls....
im not convinced

waste of $$$...
get a $5 1 way check valve adn route it to your exhaust and BOOM instant vac is created to pull the crank case pressure

I installed them and my oil consumption dropped over 90% and the boost increased slightly. It was apparently from the pcv valve not holding against boost.

Then you are pretty fortunate. My car used to burn 1qt every 3,000 miles as well. Some of my close friends had the same. It's also pretty well documented that many people have some pretty high oil consumption issues.

Would lead my to believe that these engines weren't broken in properly or the choice of oil. Mobil 1 is notorious for burning. Since I switched to synthetic oil(Castrol/Motul) 3 years ago, my 02's engine hasn't burned a drop of oil since.

I have the krank vetns to, I think they are a great concept.
My car never burns oil, I redlined the car on the test drive and ever since, Im FI, Ive run lean for a few months.
Each cars just different, I use Castrol GTX.

Re: (revhi)
my car doesnt burn oil although it is new, only 1500 miles. The manual says to check the oil level every time you fill up with gas
I should be used to it though, my turbo teg used to burn a qt or more every 1000 miles.

It is worth the piece of mind to me knowing that my car isn't burning oil IMO.

Or to make sure your engine isn't having a chance of detonating because of the oil lowering your octane.

Yeah, because 1 quart of oil every 150-200 gallons of gas is really gonna have an effect on my average octane...

on a highly modified car where you don't have a lot of room for error, the lowered octane can decrease the life of a hard-run engine.
