Because you can get a 2001 car with a K-series.
I guess I didn't mean it had to be specifically a EM/ES. Essentially you can't put an engine from an older generation car into a newer generation car. Anyways, yea, a b-series engine would be cheaper and easier to come by, but that savings would easily and quickly be eaten up with custom fabbed mounts, etc. Anything is possible with money though.. Case in point: http://www.importtuner.com/fea....html

The only B-series you can run in a 7th Gen. Civic and be legal, would be an Integra from 2001, in a 2001 7th Gen. But, even then, you'll need so much money dumped into custom wiring, harnesses, ECU, driveshafts, motor mounts, etc... that it would be cheaper to run a K20/K24. And, for the money, the K will always be the better option. |

I am planning, at some point down the line, to do a K20 swap. Would it save me money to purchase a K20A3 and an A2 head or JDM RSX Type-R head to swap out?

Toyomatt you seem to know alot here is a challenging question and something i
was thing about doing even thought it would be a huge waist of money. If I installed a K20A2 could i use the CR-V transmission with the TSX transmission Gearing? I want to have the 4WD

Plus the differential is about the size of a grapefruit, so you couldn't put much power down.
