zip tis work as well. but dont have it as flush as yours.. but you get the quick release option with zip ties.

I'm gonna give you a piece of advice. Stainless steel bolts, galvanized bolts will rust too, especially after you break the galvanizing with the socket wrench and a box wrench.

Good post, my 98 hatch for some reason has keep perfect gaps despite it's mileage and body. It gets bumped a lot in the city, I have random paint from other peoples car, but it takes it like a champ! Gosh, I love that car...*tears*

I did the same thing about 5 years ago (not trying to say I invented it at all) and my non-galvanized hardware is still holding strong:
![]() Also I did not remove the entire bumper to do mine. all you need to do is cut the wheel to the side that you're working on, unscrew the stock horseshit with a phillips head screw driver, then grab up a 10mm wrench and 10mm socket/wrench and install the new stuff. I locking nut is a nice touch and won't come loose - mine has not been adjusted in 5 years.

While this topic is revived... how do you get rid of the gap between the top of the front bumper and the leading edge of the hood? My hood is flush with the tops of the fenders so I'm assuming it's the bumper support that needs to go up. I've tried taking the bumper cover off and jacking the front up with some wood and it didn't do anything except start lifting the car off the ground.

The only thing i could begin to think of is washers on the top of the bumper under that retaining plate(strip) that runs on top of the bumper (5 bolts), But the bolts are flat and i dont know where you could find some like that, but longer *shrugs* If that is what you are talking about

if you live in florida, go to Lowes and here are the part numbers:
61900 61815 67393 67392 those include the bolts, flat washers, lock washers, and the nuts, i'm not sure which are which but those number include everything you need, I just did this yesterday |
