xzilon
yeah so i got my car coated with this stuff called xzilon and i really really wish that i wouldnt have. I was just wandering if anyone else felt the same way about it as i did...i just feel like it was a complete waste of money!!! IT was supposed to protect your paint and be like scotch guard on the inside( at least thats what the dealer told me) i havent noticed anything on the outside but i am notorius for leaving my sunroof opened well it had been raining for like 10 minutes before i noticed and all the water had already soaked into the seats when i went to clean it out... well anyways anyone know who to contact about this stuff???
OR MAYBE I COULD JUST REMEMBER TO CLOSE MY SUNROOF ...HUH???

So wait. You got the paint protection, and you hate it because it rains in the interior when you leave your sunroof open? Does not make sense to me what you are asking.

All that dealer applied crap is either A) pure horseshit or B) nothing more than some crap you could buy yourself for a total outlay of no more than $50. Buy a can of scotchguard and DIY - and save $600.

Actually, the product sounds pretty good, but even though it's expensive, it is A) more than enough to do a car and B) way less than the dealer charges for it.

Consumer Report came up with an article regarding some options you just shouldn't waste money on. Pretty good stuff to read up on. Basically it's like when the dealer spends 5 hours persuading you of how reliable your Honda is and why you should buy one, and once you've decided to make a purchase, they spend another 5 hours trying to sell you the extended warranty. Wait, if this car is SOOOO reliable, why do I need the extended warranty???

10 mins of rain in a sunroof.. wow that sucks
Mine got rained in once, somehow i managed to leave a 5 or 6 inch crack in the passenger window and when i came out the next morning the passenger side was wet and door was wet... I think I got lucky because the rain was blowing in from the south (side that the drivers door was on) and I was under a tree. So it dried out within the day of driving with the windows down lol.

Actually it is very expensive, But I would get it done if you have the spare money. I got a free bottle of ToyoGuard from my brother. It is Toyota's paint protectant. It is good for Acid Rain. Especially since I have a black car

Re: xzilon (KASEY06si)
if you bought the xzilon and you think you got ripped off do a test. get a can of quick dry rust oleum spraypaint. just give a quick spray across the hood or fender. if it was treated once the paint is dry it will come off with no more effort than a finger. if it wasnt tested than you got a lawsuit on the dealer for fraud. also as for the interior it dosent say that water wont soak in it is simply to protect from stains. nothing short of a trash bag will prevent 10 minutes of rain from soaking into your seats. the xzilon will protect from bugs acid rain road tar as well as sun induced fading and a number of other things. if you have any questions feel free to email me.

Re: xzilon (xzilonguy)
not being smart or anything... but its kind of hard to just take a can of paint to my car? and if it doesnt come off wont the dealer say well why did you spray paint it?

Re: xzilon (KASEY06si)
if it doesnt come off then the dealership cant say anything because you got them. if it is properly treated with xzilon then trust me you can remove it with your fingers i do it to my truck all the time. if it wasnt properly treated then you tell them the problem and they fix the problem or you get an attorney and sue them for fraud. pretty simple
