got mine from the acura dealership for around 150, but i ordered my tie rods on a friday and they wouldnt ship till monday so i had to pay extra for next day shipping.

BTW im running function/form type II for the RSX on my 2002 ex.

i had to change the tie rod ends, drill out the front from 14mm to 16mm, cut off damn near half of the rsx lower part of the rear shock off, and im still trying to find a spacer for the rear cause the rsx rear lower bolt hole is too big than the civic one.

so if anyone can show me a link that would be great.

Default Sway Bar question

My previous car was a 98 Hatch, and I installed an ITR Bar with the ASR subframe brace kit to avoid tearing out the D brackets.

Now I have an 05 EX Coupe. Just wondering if any of the RSX-S components go onto this Civic like the ITR stuff did on previous gen's. Also is there a point at which a subframe brace is required to avoid damage like my old car, or is this car good to go?

Thanks.

Sorry, my post was originally another new thread, and it got moved into this thread by a mod.

I now have my answers, and I am glad I have an 05 to avoid all that hassle that the 01-03's have to deal with.

Is there a size difference in the EX coupe rear sway bar when compared to the RSX, or um, before I put my foot in my mouth, does the EX even have a factory rear sway bar? Havent looked underneath....

is there a DIY or write up on installing rsx suspension on an 04 em2? or will it be the same as installing coilovers made for our cars? (with he exception of changing tie rod ends and possibly shaving some stuff off the rear bushing)

Yes, it will be. This has been established many times in this thread.

ok I am doing this somewhere else in another thread but this seams to be the right spot for it( i am researching).

What I have gotten is I can do up to a 23mm bar on my 02 EX 4dr, is this correct?

I get the bar from an RSX... which year RSX? What other parts would I need to do the complete installation? Endlinks, brackets, bushings?

What is this "bar" you're referring to? Strut tower bar, anti-sway bar, etc...? Where is it located? Front or rear?

You'll need the anti-sway bar, the brackets, and the bushings that go around the bar and under the brackets. The endlinks can be reused (if you can get them off your old anti-sway bar).

Bump for Great info in this thread...

But my question is....what about lowering springs themselves????

is there a difference is just the springs itself?

i found a set of Tein S.tech for a 02 RSX for really cheap....

cause looking at coilovers and springs and shocks for the RSX look very identical to the 02+ Civic....

if this has been answered, sorry I am new to the 01 + Civic suspension, I used to own an EF....

the spring rates might be a bit different, but they fit fine. i actually used RSX springs on my 7thgen for awhile because it basically eliminated the rear sag that our cars tend to have and made the car look much more well balanced.

Default EP3 Suspension

Does EP3 suspension bolt up to 04-05 Civic Coupes/Sedans?

I'm looking at a set of HFP suspension for the Ep3 (Spring and Struts), and was wondering if it fits without mods?

If it fits, does it provide the same drop as it does on the EP3 or will it be lower?

It will fit, as long as the EP3 is from the same production year (check the FAQ's for production year information). Depending on what car you're referring to (EM2 or Sedan), the drop will be slightly less to about the same as that of an EP3 on HFP suspension. It won't be a noticeable difference, regardless.

The ad I'm loking at says 02-04 EP3 and my car is an 05 Sedan. I'm assuming he means 02-05? I'll double check on that.

To clarify, the suspension should be different for 02-03 EP3 and 04-05 Ep3?

So I would need the suspension for 04-05 Ep3 for it to be a direct fit?

Thanks in advance!

There is ways around the knuckle bolt issue. You can just use a drill with a 5/8 in. bit to make a 14mm hole into a 16mm hole.

I have not heard anybody mention strut bars (rear or front) or 4 point underbody braces. Do these carry over also?

Most DC5 front strut tower braces will fit without trimming. Worst case scenario you'll have to trim the hood to make it fit. I'm using a Cusco 3-piece front tower brace for a DC5 application without problems.

Rear strut bars are useless in these cars because the trunk floor bridges the towers together.

Underbody braces are also useless, as they do nothing but connect solid mounting points to each other (there's no flex to begin with).

This wouldn't cause a clearance issue with the exhaust?

As long as it's 23mm or less, it should fit with the stock exhaust.
