the only stock stuff i got rid of was the sprockets. it has a 520/-1,+2 now. Got the whole exhaust jet hot coated. I am happy with it.
jumper mod, modified the fans/put them on a reversible switch, running NPG coolant I might put some CF wheels on it later lol.

I have it nearly back together but am pondering stripping the motor down for a refresh. Going to bring it back better then before too but think I'll reduce it's duty and get my friend's gsxr 750 |

i weigh like 120 so i'm already 30lbs lighter than the average joe lol. Aluminum sprockets and 520 chain probably shaved a little bit of rotating mass - ive already done it. I already yanked the PAIR, vapor can, and coolant tank (npg+ doesnt pressurize like std coolant). I have taken most of the bike apart and i really don't think there is That much weight to be saved unless Extreme measures are taken.
I thought about Sato Ti cans, but i'm not going to pay 1g for them. i would only lose at most 10lbs by going to Ti canisters, i would need a Powercommander which i have heard kills the mileage on the bike (my rc51 gets almost 50mpg and i like it that way). After tuning the bill is around 1500 for 9hp. I think id rather spend 1500 on a set of forged mag wheels. I know the rear wheel is heavy....i would drop at 15lbs in rotating & static mass from the front and rear. i pulled the airbox before and it's not even that heavy. I seen the CF airboxes and snorkels and i think they are a bit extreme.

And wheels will be the most noticeable difference, so I would look for a set of used BST carbon fiber wheels if you want to drop ~$1500. |

The CF airboxes and snorkels aren't for weight at all. They are for improved air flow into the motor. The CF airbox is MUCH bigger and the cf snorkels and less restrictive then the stock one. |

My 2004 ZX10-R in her current state. Race tail, custom brakelight/fe, and home-made exhaust hanger are all new in this pic.
![]() Before all that stuff, just washed her (kinda - look at those dirty wheels) and decided to go out for a little ride. ![]()

a* supertech-r's. they're really comfy and offer great feel, it was just my first time ever putting them on while on the bike.

I was going to buy Held Phantom's, but I got a killer deal on my Alpinestars GP Pro's. After trying on race boots from Sidi, TCX, Puma, and Alpinestars, I felt that Alpinestars were the most comfortable. |

word y0! stay away from Pumas (had the 1000 model before the supertech-r's) if you're ever in the market for boots in the future... they ****ing suck donkey dick. they're comfy as hell, but the overall design is poor imo.

![]() my bike, my buddies gsxr 1k, and my dads zrx. i took the gsxr in for the week to fix it, was only running on 3 cylinders. due to a fouled plug, it was running like shit. got it running properly and mapped the power commander too. that thing is fast as hell, haha. also did a full detail, chain cleaned and waxed, and did an oil change with some fresh amsoil synthetic. was nice to actually put some money in my pocket for once, lol. that bike is so fast ive got the urge to jump up to a 1000 but i know ill get in trouble too much, and i dont like the weight, i am considering an 04-07 1krr next season if i get my finances straight.

Give me some time. I'm working on bringing it back better then before... Maybe front mounts, airbox, wheels, non yellow paint job, redone forks again since my old ones are bent to crap, maybe triple trees, and maybe some minor engine work
![]() Only thing is if I do all of that it'll suck even more if I crash again... heh. I still really should get it to a place to check the frame for being straight since it hit so hard. Really would like to know how many times it flipped as I don't know and noone saw. |
