01 f4i engine swap
ive got an 2001 CBR 600f4i. needs transmission work, but was gonna look at upgrading the engine while swapping the tranny. anyone know if a 929 or 954 or 1000 cc engine will fit in an 01 f4i frame?

With enough money, anything can be done.
But, for the amount of work and fabrication you would need to do, it would be cheaper to buy a 929, 954, or 1000rr bike.

Re: (marmaladeboy)
it's more the fact that if you have to ask such a question I don't think you belong on a 1000 and somewhat question if you should even be on a 600

har har smart asses.. i know u can swap motors on gixxers with no headaches, just pick up a cheap motor.. didnt know if the honda's were as easy.. guess i'll ask a more mature audience next time!
baught the bike cheap with a busted shift fork and since its just as cheap to buy a whole motor with tranny, instead of fixing this tranny, was wondering if a bigger engine would just go right in..

you can swap 750 motors to the 600's pretty easy. even still it's stupid. buy a new bike. I garuntee you're not ready for a liter bike.

1000's fit in the 750's too.. got a friend in bedford thats owned two 750's and put 1000's in them.. since you're an expert on how i ride i guess i'll leave the 1000 alone and fix this tranny!

meh. not that bad. swapping motors though isn't like in cars. just buy a new bike. it really isnt worth it. frames and suspensions are made for what's in there and changing it can upset things quite a bit

Dude yo, just put a ZX-14 motor in that biatch! Screw the 929 or 954. You'll be doing wheelies like nothing! Cops wont be able to touch you!

It's sometimes worth it. For example; it's cheaper for me to buy a 998 engine and swap it into my 748 than to buy a 998. The bike was cheap enough that the motor would cost me more.

I've always wondered if that was a common thing to do with Ducatis.
