the stock shifter has the screw embedded on to it so there isnt a xtra one for the new shifter

I think I remember reading that you need to go to Honda and buy the bolt. Contact Forbidden, I believe they can give you the exact part number you'll need.

If I remember correctly, I think you'll find it in the Prelude shifter diagram when you get to Honda. Just have the person at the parts counter pull up the diagram and show it to you, you should be able to locate it.

I could of swore that the shifter where intended for the Prelude and if you where buying it for and Accord you would need to buy that bolt from Honda. I'll try and find where I read that at.

Yuo were right. I looked it up for an Accord which is wrong because the bolt actually is built into the Accord shifter.

no. there is not a "short shift kit", however upgraded torque conveters can give you faster shift times. A short shift kit only acts to decrease the "throw" of the shift lever to get from one gear to another. Usually this is done by changing where the linkages connect to the rod, and the overall length of the rod.

im confused....why can't you use your old accord bolt?

yes, and it should be noted that you really dont need this exact bolt to do the shifter install. any 8mm threaded bolt and nut combo would do just fine...

yeah its built into the oem shifter....

the one forbidden has is made for the prelude.. but it fits for the accord also.. so for all you who is gonna get one.. ill advise you to go to a dealership and order that bolt part first before you order your short shfiter from forbidden..

i was lucky enough to find something small and round to fit through the hole to make it work for the mean time.. heres what im talkin about..

its #26 on the diagram a few post up..

you need the lude bolt and the little sleeve thing.

it doesnt feel right with a DIY sleeve and home depot bolt.

I've read that a couple times in other posts as well. Does it make it feel sloppy or something?

Also, iLUVmyACCORD, what year Accord are you putting this into?

Would you mind doing something for me?

I was wondering if you could place the cable on the top setting and see if it hits anything like the console or just anything when you shift through the gears? Also, do you think you could place the cable in all three settings and descibe the difference in shift length and/or feel? And one last question, do you think you could take a picture of the final assembly so I can see where the shifter sits in the console, so I can see how much shorter it is from stock?

If you don't have time or if it's too much of a hassle, I understand. Those are just a few things I've been questioning but can't seem to find anything to answer them. If you could do that for me though I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

Just wondering if you were able to get those pictures and try out the other cable positions when you replaced the screw?
