Lookin at his 60ft.......they didnt help much!!!!!!! 2.1?????? Most people get a 2.2 with radials......
It must have helped more with his 1-2 shift to get him down that low. But a 2.0 or less would get him in the 13.xxs!! Nice runs! |

As I stated in my first post, being able to rev to 5500 holds back any chance at a 1.9-2.0 60'. The best 60' I cut was 2.132... The drag radials spun for a tiny bit, then hooked VERY well and caught traction right inside vtec, which is optimal... If I was able to rev to 6500-7000 on the launch, I know I would have hit a 13.xx no problem as the 60' would be much better. The Hoosier DR's are very sweet tires. I started at 20psi, and got wheelhop/spun until about 7800, then caught, then bounced the limiter. Lowered the psi to 18, and they spun a tiny bit and caught.

I'm sure with a little more practice you will see a 13.9 or better. Good luck!! Keep us posted.

It doesn't make sense how you want to launch higher, yet you are still spinning.
Nice times though. What is compustar?

If he rides the clutch a little bit on the launch he could probably launch a little higher and completely let the clutch off as the wheels are in a good rotation.
I don't know specifically what I'm doing when I do it, but I know I was able to get a 2 flat 60' using this technique in my friends GSR EJ. Just finding the right RPM and dropping the clutch pedal isn't going to be the ideal launch, especially with drag radials. Nice times with cheap mods. I wonder if a reflash and a good launch will get you 13's soon. |

Your launches look good. Try not doing your burnout in the water box. All that water ends up in your wheelwells and drops back down on your tires after you pull up. Try to give them just one full rotation on the very edge of the box as you pass through it. Then pull just to the edge of everyone's water trails. Lightem up and pull to the line. This will get you the dryest burnout tire possible. Stick your head out the window if you need to look. Remember....every tenth in the 60ft is worth 2-3 tenths at the end.

Oh and Compustar is a 2way alarm/autostart... http://www.compustar.com Quote:
No I haven't dyno'd it... I really don't find any reason to dyno it until I need tuning. With each dyno having different numbers (along with changes in temp/humidity/etc), even if I pulled a 230 whp, that means nothing to me.... The drag strip is my 'dyno'.
