This doesent seem to be going the way I wanted. I think you guys at hasport should do something to show good faith for screwing us early guys on your kit. I dont think running and changing your instructions qualifies as good customer service.

Oh dear! I hadnt budgeted for this either?

So is there actually no hood solution? I think im gonna have to knock up a F/G one and put a bulge in it. Not exactly subtle tho

Super massaged(?) more like cut and moved. We decided against this idea since it looked like it would mean removing the heater core.

We're the emails to sales@hasport.com?

Ours came from Fiber Images, and is what the H and K-series kits are based on. There is also a local shop that makes them, I will have to check to see how theirs fits and what the price is.

The only precedent to our bolt-in EFH kit was the Place Racing weld-in kit. We hardley felt the same strategy for the EG, DC and EK mount kits was adequate or we would have made the kit years ago. The decisions we made were the same ones made for our EF K-series kit, so were the "usual" ones in our mind.

The Fiber Images hood fits, and we'll check on others.

Can you please provide a link to the Fiber Images Hood?

Will any CF SiR hood fit?

I am from the UK so would prefer to source one nationally rather than internationally.

http://www.fiberimages.com The site is down at this time. I just talked to them and their website is being updated and will return soon.

The true SiR hood is a little long for the CRX and Civic HB and requires more than just a hood to fit. In the US, there are several companies that make SiR look-a-like hoods for the standard CRX and Civic HB. The only one we have tried is the Fiber Images hood.

I would reccoment that you guys research on the cheapest hoods availble that will clear. Also if you guys could organise a group buy or supply them at cost to your early users.

Fiber Images had an ideal solution; a replica of a JDM SiR hood, except for its length, which was curtailed to fit the slightly stubbier front end of USDM models."

There was another article in the same issue further detailing the engine swap and this information was not included. It was supplied though and in the pre edited version of the story. But there is no mention of using a stock hood.

I have spent $2000 CAD on Hasport Products for this swap and it makes me absolutelty sick how Hasport has treated me regarding customer service. I have given Haport plenty time to make some effort to rectify this. They have done NOTHING besides fixing their instustions to cover their ass and try to prove that they are in the right.

BUYER BEWARE!

I really didnt want to resort to post like this, but if i can help by swaying other customers from buying this kit or being mislead by hasport then I shall. I also invite anyone to send me a Pm regarding the kit or service.
I've been trying to be objective & nonjudgemental in this post since I simply started it to be an informative post about this swap since there has been so little info posted on H-T & because the Hasport Instructions were so vague & did not represent everything actually involved & needed.

At this moment though I'm feeling really jaded & growing tired of my crooked hood, & the ever enlarging silver spot wearing its way into my valve cover that will eventually work it's way through.

I'm really surprised by Hasports lack of action in not doing much to help us early users of this kit. I did get the fixed alternator bracket though, probably wouldn't have if I didn't ask for it. So I guess I better ask for what I want to see happen now. Most companies that sell a product that has faults or requires additional items to work properly that were not originally included or disclosed will then supply their customers with those items, ie you would supply us with mounts that mount the engine below the hood or send us a hood that works with your current design.

I had been looking forward to the H22 CRX on Pinks episode all season because of my plans for this swap. We all know, or most of us know the story behind the episode (a mild NA H22 CRX can't compete with a super-light built & boosted bug on nitrous, so how about a boosted b series) during which I gained respect for you Brian, you seemed like a cool respectable guy. Sorry to say it but, all of that is now lost.

EDIT: I guess I should clarify that the only viable opion for me & probably individuals that have already put the motors in their cars is a hood, since swapping out mounts would be labor intensive.

I've been waiting for you to contact me. I've made it clear to a few of your employees during my last few calls, & my e-mail, that I was not happy with the hood situation (while mentioning the other issues) & they said it would be passed onto you & Brian in your meetings, at which point I expected to receive a call from you since you do have my contact info. Anyways, Brian & Freeltec are working things out so I'll just wait & see.

Oh yeah. It's quick.

I have a rough street tune on it for now, until I have the $ to dyno tune it. I plan on taking it to the drag strip on the 23rd to see how fast it does the 1/4 mile.

High 13's?!!? my prelude was a mid 13's car with less NA hp. This is much lighter & has more torque. I'm expecting mid 12's, but we'll see.

Sounds right, stock went 14.0 @102 mph 2.2. I had a 2" small exhaust on it. with just intake. bolt ons and with tuning hit consistant 106 mph times, but still bogged bad off the line, turned out to be the p13 ebayspoon ecu...
