Default 95 Accord Legend 2 Piston Brake Upgrade

Here are some pix from my recent Legend 2 Piston Upgrade. I got some 2-piston GS Caliper from the junkyard with 25T brackets from a 95-97 Accord V6. Painted the calipers gold to give them the mugen look. I used rotors from a 95-97 Accord V6 or wagon.

I had to buy new seals for the calipers...freaking $65 (dealer didn't even have them only one company makes it and its special order) for seals. I ****ed up the old ones by soaking them in oil to clean them. Oil expands brake seals like a sponge.

While I was upgrading everything I got new stainless steel lines too.

Calipers with no pistons and painted

The Pistons.

Calipers with new $65 seals.

25T Accord V6 brackets.

Rotor and Hub pulled. (remove the four bolts and a slide hammer does the trick.)
Three hits on the slide hammer and off the hub and rotor came.

Stock 10" rotor next to the V6 11" rotor.

Perfect bolt on (no mods what so ever)

new rear rotors and SS lines.

Finished Product behind 19" Axis Se7ens

If you look closer in the picture with the slide hammer, he has a tool attached to it, which hooks up to the hub by the wheel studs. Hammer away!!! Pretty nice, ah? You can also buy one that you can use with the impact gun. It works basically the same only a lot faster. Try any parts stores, they should carry it.

By the way great brake set up. You inspired me in doing the same. Found all the parts (except rims). Its all in my thread V-6 front brakes on a '95 4cyl.

Catch ya leter guys.

You can try AutoZone, they have all kind of cool tools. Just ask them for that specific one.
You can actualy make it yourself. Its pretty easy to fabricate. When you see that tool thing, you'll see what I'm talking about.

You bolt the hub-puller tool to the hub with lug nuts and then screw your slide hammer in the senter of it. Just like a bolt and a nut deal.

I actually went to autozone tonight and they have slide hammers but nothing liike what he has on the end. The threads don't match up to the puller. I found a few slide hammer puller with the hub attachment which was like $45 so its kind of pricey since the slide hammer at autozone was like 15 so what to do ?

Hey you know that u can rent tools from AZ for no charge right? Get the slide hammer. Rent the hub tool. U can use a different tip for the slide hammer rite? Find one that would go straight trough the hole inside the hub tool, washer and nut it in the back. Bam, Bam, Yey!!!

wow, very nice ...what pads are you running? and since you effectively increased the brake torque significantly in the front, what have you done to increase the rear brake torque to maintain the balance of your braking system?

in reference to the slide hammer and the hub attachment tool... AutoZone does carry them both, atleast over here they do. I rented them both from there like 3 years ago. Maybe try going to a different AutoZone, I've found some AutoZone's don't have the same exact thing as the next.

Also, an alternative to the slide hammer would be a small sledge or heavy rubber mallet. Once you have the bearing unbolted from the knuckle, hit the rotor a few times from behind where the caliper goes. I've heard others talk about using this method and it working. Don't worry about the rotor face since you'll be replacing the rotor anyway.

thats what i was thinking about the slide hammer that the one that i checked wouldn't have it. nota big problem i can check the other, i guess i also wanted to get a nice one just to have just to have something with a little more umph, but never tried just hammering it like you said. i mean i did try to hammer it before but out of frustration hahaha. The plan was that i have a friend who was goingto give me his 30 ton hydraulic press to press out the hub from behind but i just wanted to not have to pay to have this done again and try to do it myself.

You can try the hammer parts, just remember anytime you try to remove the hub without specialty tool your bearing may come appart. Juat giving you heads up on that.

You can also use an impact on it. That thing works sweet! No bearing problems either.
