you can buy the Honda special tool driver, and just use a hammer to pop it out.

Been using that method for years and hundreds of R&R's with no issues.

TIP- spray a little lube around the surfaces before working and hit the edges of the bushing with a hammer to break it free....then use the driver and it will pop right out

if i used a press to put my new RTA bushings in, is there anyway to rotate the bushing when the suspension gets loaded down again? (to properly clock the bushing)

No, you have to clock them AS you're installing them. You need to make marks on the TA while the car is on the ground, suspension loaded at whatever your normal ride height is. Then when you put the new bushings in, make sure the flat points of the bar through the bushing aligns with the marks.

This is some very ice write ups. + the pics gave it more justice. I found this thread as i was looking for it specifically after in inspected the trailing arms on my 95 civic ex. They are both torn up. And will need replacing.

I was wondering too if i can rent the same tool at our local autozone. But, after reading some of your post that your willing to have it rented i am very much interested. I will be PMig you soon.

Thanks

Sorry, I don't have an answer to the previous poster. I live in the United Kingdom and managed to buy this trailing arm bushing tool in America and get a friend there to ship it to me. You can't buy it in the UK. With shipping costs I paid around £150, but it was worth it, because the tool removed the old bushes and installed new ones (they cost £7.50 each). The point of this posting is that if anyone in the United Kingdom wants to hire the tool from me or buy it, please phone me on 01799 544288 during working hours. I am the editor of Pilot magazine and that's my office number.
