Default Need help with 2006 EX/LX/DX Turbo manifold!

Has anyone here started to develop, or think about developing a turbo kit for the 2006 civic dx/lx/ex motor, the R18?
From what I can tell the only problem with creating a kit for this engine will be manifold design. The exhaust manifold is cast into the head which will require some sort of adapter in order to work correctly.

If someone knows of anyone trying to develop a kit, or someone that would be willing to design one, let me know. There are a ton of members on ************* that are interested in a kit for this engine, and just need some help getting started since all of the manufacturers are interested in the Si @ the moment.

I think if you can get a pattern for the flange then that would help alot.... I just got into cad a little bit ago.

Couldn't you cnc a 90degree elbow that would then become the "turbo manifold"

Like Flange to Head <--->T3/T4 flange ?

Anyway, ill make my way back to the motorcycle forum

goodluck!

Exactly what I was thinking. Looks fairly straightforward aside from chassis clearances.

hopefully someone can come up with something and produce it, I can guarantee you'd have a ton of customers, and i'd point them all your way.

The only issue after the fab of the manifold/downpipe/dumptube would be the engine management, but I believe cybernation has that taken care of, well I hope so

Depending on the space that could possibly be the easiest turbo manifold ever in the history of the world. Headflange+ plate steel transition+ turbo flange= done.

well if someone would come up with this, and possibly take pics, I can guarantee you'll have a lot of customers.

Can someone draw/show exactly what they're talking about with how simple this manifold will be?

We are already looking into this and have a vehicle for R&D, problem is there is VERY limited room. Here's some pics of the engine bay.

i bet if there was a way to port and polish that exhaust end of the head, it would work wonders...but thats a really strange design..i never understood why they did it..i guess they made it easier for turbo guys!!!

seriously this has got to be one of the easiest set ups to design, very simialr to the manifold used on the hf and vx type set ups, just come off the head witha single flange into the turbo.

yeah its not gonna be a 10 second car but hell you CAN make a turbo kit for it
