i dont know much about exhaust but ithink the loudness problem is your N1. N1's are generally loud. greddy SP2 is probably my favorite exaust. its not very loud at all and i THINK it has stainless steel piping plus it doesnt hang low so scratching will probably not be an issue with an average drop.

I went through this search for a while because who the hell wants to buy an exhaust when you don't even know what it sounds likeż!
People were tying to tell me what to go with by their preferences. Don't listen to them, search for audio clips to hear the sounds yourself and then you will be able to decide. I had a chance to hear the RSR, Mugen, HKS, Flowmaster, and a few others. The RSR looks good (Stock looking) but sounded kind of raspy. The Mugen is the best sounding (not too loud) exhaust I have heard for the 5th gen Prelude, very clean. They are expensive but you have to pay to play.

^ Isn't RSR about the quietest you will find for aftermarket?

ive got the megan N/A catback, on my 5th gen, and its not loud at all.. and not ricey at all.. and a friend has the real apexi N-1 cat back on his integra, and its quieter than my megan
i also have a original Evo axel back, that i put onto my stainless piping, and its INSANELY loud.. but i think all the sound deadening material from inside blew out.. P.S. Evo2 = awrsome

How about the Tanabe Medallion Concept G.
http://www.tanabe-usa.com/exhausts/conceptg.asp They claim max output of 93db. I've always been a fan of the N1 but they are just soo loud. This might be a good alternative.
