Be easier than the other dikheads have been so far, accidents happen.

The accident didnt leave it 1' thick, my dad took an Excavator to it after I stripped it, that is why its 1' thick now and buried underground.

Almost every single TypeR accident I hear about, it's the rear end takes the hit on account of spinning the car around.

know i know you stated that the "nnnnnn is a sequential numbering of the cars produced (that does not have ANY relationship to the ITR numbers on the armrests)"
but

there might be some thing if we could get a couple more of the guys out there with 97-R's last 4 and # and list them together with the sequential numbering far as some of the odballs high end 's listed on itrca for 97 in the 360's and 450's there a whole need ball game but ......

after typing up a sequential numbering list for the vins given counting from 002516 as arm rest #1 and count up from there ... at 2970 i stopped.. becasue im tired and its my cars last 4 which counting up to this one by one up the list i came up with #139 for 002970 now i can NOT say 100% for sure that my car is #143 of 97 because the only info i have to even say its #143 is its old license plate that came with it when i got it ..."IL plate" "itr143" not say this if for sure thing that badges and sequential numbering completely linked together but there might be something close there for most of them in the early production of the cars. correct me if im wrong but 4 digits off is kinda a thinker. !

question: do we really know how many ITR's were factory team cars ?

Was there 4 ?

We know that the badge numbers were not placed in the cars sequentially. As the cars were built, they reached into a box of badge numbers, grabbed one, and mounted it on the armrest. So the numbering is not precisely sequential the way you are thinking it was; it's not like they placed numbers 1 through 143 into the first 143 VINs in sequence.

However, if your car's previous owner had the ITR 143 license plate in Illinois, I would say that there is a very good chance that it was #143 on the armrest. I say that because he probably requested that specific number. The Illinois Secretary of State (that's what we call the office that all the other states call the Department of Motor Vehicles) offers two different types of specialized plates which you can request: "vanity plates", which consist of only numbers or only letters, and "personalized plates", which consist of letters followed by numbers (e.g. ITR 143) or numbers followed by letters. A lot of people order personalized plates because the fees are less than for vanity plates. On personalized plates, one-digit numbers are sometimes assigned at random (Jim Lee asks for the lowest number he can get, and ends up with JIM LEE 5), but it's not likely with three-digit numbers. He most probably asked for that specific number. And the most likely reason he asked for it is that that was on his armrest.

That would be really Cool. imagine going up to an ITR and knowing what year and all just from the VIN. interesting.

I Can Use This Vin Data To See How Many 4DR Gs-R W/Leather (JH4DB859cTSxxxxxx) Were Made In 1996, Always Wondered. I Know It's Not Many.

Does Anyone Have This Same File For The 1996 4DR Gs-RLs(JH4DB859cTSxxxxxx)

So After Looking Through The Acura Owners Page I Was Able To Find Out That The Integra GS-RL 4DR Was Available For The 95, 96, 97, & 98 Model Years. For 95, 96, & 97 The GS-RL 4DR Was Only Offered In Two Colors. The First Frost White For The Exterior & Graphite Leather For The Interior, It Was Offered For All The Model Years (95-98). The Second Color Was My DB8s Color: Cypress Green Pearl Exterior With Either Saddle Or Sandstone Leather. This Color Combination Was Only Offered For 96 & 97 Models. The Cypress Green Pearl Exterior Was Also Available For '98 But That Is The 4G Integra And It Had A Different Colored Leather Interior.

So This Is Making Me Feel Pretty Good About The Rareness Of My Car. You Could Only Buy This Same Car In Either 1996 Or 1997. I'm Interested In How Many Were Sold For Both '96 & '97.

1996 Integra GS-RL 4DR
Cypress Green Pearl

Can You Back That Up With Any Facts, They Did Not Build That Many 4DR GS-R With Or Without Leather, You're Right About The Leather It Does Make It Even More Rare. This Is Why I Was Wondering If Anyone Has A Vin Sheet Fot The 1996 4DR Gs-R W/Leather (JH4DB859cTSxxxxxx)
