not just anyone will get it..... i still can check ownership of the car based on the VIN number. if the 2 names dont match, no radio code....

but honestly, who steals a stock Honda radio?

I need a radio code for a 00 civic si. I lost the code and I know that if I disconnect the battery one day the stereo will be dead. Well, at least til I pull it out and take it to the dealer with my title. I'll keep you in mind

Whats up with all those newbies and stereo codes.

Any idea how to get the code for a radio with no number and you dont know the VIN? the stereo aint stolen, but the car is gone that its from, and my idiot friend pulled the sticker. SOmeone mentioned the 4 digit number on the flap. Its a tape deck from a Acura, DIN sized, 10 years old approxamately. Someone told me it was made by Panasonic.

Sam, my girlfriend just got a really nice 2002 Accord SE sedan. We got it at a Ford dealership that didn't know what to do about the stereo code. I will call them on Monday to try to get one (I'm sure they'll just call the local Honda dealer with the VIN number) but I was hoping we could listen to the radio tomorrow. Plus, we both work all day on Monday and don't have time to go to a dealer. I heard they don't give you a code over the phone. Can you email me? markyh73@yahoo.com
Thanks.

When i turn the key the atena will start buzzing but the radion would not come nor it would display the code message? What to do?

I bought a 97 Accord SE last week and I sure could use some help with this problem.

While checking the car over I found a receipt on the side of the battery that showed it was 5 years old. Tried to change the battery over the weekend with the car running per the local Dealer but touched the positive cable to a metal AC line while scrubbing off all of the corrosion.

Of course the car died and now I need the radio code. The local Dealer told me on friday before the battery swap they would need the serial number off the radio to get me a code, which is why I tried to do it with the car running. Over the weekend I removed the console and radio per my Haynes repair manual. I think I've had the radio out of just about every car I have ever owned and this one was one of the most difficult.

I wrote down every printed and stamped number off of the radio and then reinstalled it. On monday I went back to the local dealer and gave them the info. The service person said they couldn't find that number and wanted to know if I had written it down wrong. I had written the numbers down in three places, (owners manual, service manual and the paper I took to the dealer) and I checked all of them three times before I reinstalled it.

Anyway, the dealer called Honda and Honda said that was a serial number they didn't show. The dealer gave the model and serial number to Honda. Honda said they would contact Panasonic and it would take a couple of days to get a code.

That was on Monday. Its now Friday and my contact at the dealer has been off Ill for the last two days and no one else there seems to want to help. On Saturday I'll have been without the Radio and CD Player for a week and I'm about to go nuts driving the car without it.

I'm new here but originally found this site for information to help me change my own Timing belt not just for this problem.

I can provide the VIN and every number that was printed or stamped on the Radio/CD Player. If someone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. At this point I don't know if my contact at the Dealer possibly has an email from Honda with my code or if she wrote down my info incorrectly and I'm back at square one.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

honda does that to deter thieving bastards.

not fair for people to get their hard earned stuff jacked.

He specifically said that you must provide your personal imformation and such before he would reveal the code to you, so quit being an ovarian cyst.
