Thanks!

Ya, I really dont care about the money, the car has been a challenge and that is why I built it. Like I said before, the insurance company gave me a lot for my last car so I had plenty to play with.

I would really like to stray away from the whole "my car runs this 1/4 mile time" crap... Thats not really important to me. This car is unique, and very fun to drive. It makes me feel happy driving it. The shifting is amazing, and wouldnt trade it for anything!

Sure, I could have built my gsr, and put on a turbo for the same price, and prolly ran 10's... The point is that I really wanted this eng, and its VERY worth it to me!

YES! i cant believe your insurance gave you that much money for a CRX!!!!
People build cars for many reasons, i got into hondas way back then because it was cheap...now im spending thousands of dollars just to keep up with all this dealership bought power. but how ever you want to spend your money is up to you...

Good job ballah ballah ryan...

What am i going to do now since your build is done, what other tread was updated as much as this one????

In the third gear pull shocker one and the one where he goes from 2nd, the vtec comes on (if I am not just hearing things) when the tach is at the 1 o'clock position. In the second vid its about one second after he gets into 3rd. It just sounds like a buzz. In the one where it dropped out of vtec you can kinda hear it through the wind noise a little bit, engages about when the tach is at 2 o clock.

but, acting like this combo is the greatest thing since sliced bread... hardly. Neat, sure...best way to spend $10K...not in my mind.

What is cool about this whole project is, Ryan has documented it and it looks like a relatively individual project. It's no shop putting it together... it's some guy eager to spend a lot of money on his car. That's far more interesting than spending $10K+ to try to run 11s. To that point of him doing it himself, I give him my respect.
I see the future of Honda swaps going in the K direction. He is one of those early-adopters, he payed more and everything, but he is one of the first on here, and thats pretty cool. Just wait, prices will go down and within a few years alot more people will have these engines.

and lastly, LOL on that first pic up there of the rice-a-roni and all that :D

I saw a car trap at 205 MPH, but it also ran a 6.9 sec 1/4. I also highly doubt there was an H series tranny that could get you to 200, it would have to be super tall.

A guy in my car club who did a 9.1 sec quarter winning himself the title of fastest street-legal car in Idaho trapped at 160.

And thats the whole point isnt it?

For those that have yet to ride or drive one of these K-Swap cars the power is unreal...and generally you dont have to do to much to get there. Sure they are expensive now but its just in its infancy stage.

75-80 mph in 6th and punch it the car just pulls like mad. I live at over 5000 ft elevation which adds an ENTIRE SECOND to your quarter mile times n/a. Turbo would be the fastest way to go up here (no real loss for elevation) but the racing I do on the weekends is best done n/a.

BTW great website Ryan.
