I tried this and it didn't work... I followed each step carefully, but no luck. The serial number wouldn't show up.
Is this the only way to get the # without taking the unit out?
I've been driving without music for almost 2 weeks now, i'm about to go insane.

That method doesn't work on older radios (before 2000-2001 roughly)

Hey, thanks for my code: 66114.

Thing is, I am not really sure how to put it in. I turn the key to the I position and press the power/volume knob. I get this " C0dE.E" I just press 66114, but nothing happens. Is there something else I must do to insert the proper code? Please let me know, thanks a lot in advance!

Code.e indicates that the radio is locked from accepting code input attempts. Once the radio is left turned on for an hour (approx.) the radio display will revert to "code". At this point you can enter the code normally. Alternatively, I believe you can unhook the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect it, then enter the code as usual.

Didn't feel like trying the hour method (felt like a waste and i didn't have to drive anywhere for an hour), so I simply unplugged the battery for 2 mins, and viola! C0dE came up, and i entered it, and it worked!! I didn't expect this quality of sound from a 8 year old car, but it's very nice. Again thanks for all the help!

42251. The CHG port is for adding a CD changer-the cable plugs into the radio there.

The number as you gave it to me wouldn't work. Dropped the M and got 66421. May or may not work.

That serial number is invalid. Is this a Bose radio from a Legend? If so, there are 2 serial numbers listed on the radio. One is a Bose # listed on the side, the other is the Acura number listed on the bottom. See if there is another serial number on the radio.

Hi again. I am the person with the Prelude and only the two numbers. The code 26262 didn't work. I don't know which of the two you tried, but am curious if both give you a number. Perhaps the other one will work. Thanks in advance, your very helpful!
