Default USDM Integra Type R Transmission Install A.k.a.: Another pointless technical picture thread!

Yes your right! This is another one of those pointless threads with pictures of an install. Oh well, okay its not pointless. Check it out.

Job at Honda = Parts for cheap = Dealer Cost +10%

so after getting a job at Honda i was like hmm what do i want. USDM ITR is good, nothing can beat the jdm 4.78FD, but hey.

Retail Price:$2,257.83
My Price: $1,613.87 (Inc. Tax)
3 Quarts MTF: $3.03

Well the new tranny was amazingly new?? Well after opening my box, i got a lot more than i expected. Came with the transmission of course, new throwout bearing, new release shaft and reverse sensor; all of these i thought it wouldnt come with.

Well here are the pics: Installation time: @3hrs, getting faster, but i should of done it at work with the lifts.

I had my friend Hank help (a.k.a. itslogics on here) and we knocked it out real quick!

.....enjoy....feel free to comment whatever?

The tranny on the box:
(notice LSD)

Me: Excited

My Car:Naked with no front bumper

Friend Hanks car, had a SI lip on it until he hit some board on the highway

Hank and Andy: Excited about LSD!

Driveway install:

Argh Got one more bolt to tighten

All Done:

Finished Product:

night and day!

Like going from poo brown interior to black leather. I will never go back!
hah

But its geared a lot better than the gsr, lsd so on stock suspension i get much more traction. And much better scratches.

You might want to replace your distributor O-ring and cam seal.

They started my out at 7.25!

I was there for like four months, the beat me around the Bush and wouldnt never put me on flat rate.

I cant believe that you make $10 per hour to wash cars!

Type r tranny = fun lol..I have the same setup but in an ek....have fun man

Can you use the stock gsr shifter/linkage on the type r tranny? I think its the same but just wondering if you need a new shifter/linkage for it.

And how heavy is that trans?

Upping an old thread, since you did it by yourself-and I am not really knowledgeable about replacing a transmission; is there some kind of 'how-to' you can post on here? Roughly time/tools/etc.

you can't really price new vs used. jdm itr boxes go for $1200 from the importers. he only paid 400 more for brand new. i also bought a new itr transmission a few years ago........i only paid $1250 shipped you get peace of mind knowing it isn't going to grind or have issues, it's also a major plus for resale.
