Just got confirmation this shifter is NOT legal for NDRA Turbo 4 or any sportsman class.

WEAK

I would think any sport compact sanctioning body would be happy to have more consitant runs. That's funny Nascar will allow them but not NDRA, LOL

That is not confirmed

I just spoke with Glenn, he said they haven't made a final decision as of yet, I asked him to keep us posted on what the NDRA is going to decide to do with the situation.

by my interpretation of the rules - this shifter should for all intensive purposes be legal, it is a H pattern, i don't quite know what not a "true" H Pattern really means, that doesn't make much sense to me - it either is or it isn't, the only advantage of this shifter is to increase the ability to not miss shifts and that will ultimately keep the racing action close - it won't necessarily shift any faster or shift on its own

and since this is a "Street" class i can realistically see racers and even non racers us them on their daily driven street cars, they won't affect drivability of the car as far as i can see - just a re-adjustment to the way the car is driven.

I saw the question asked but didn't see the answer...Can you down shift with this shifter i.e. 4th to 3rd or 4th to 2nd? Or do you have to come to a stop to get back to 1st?

The shifter is now under review by NDRA officials and the ruling should come next week.

Quick question for those of you who are pushing to get this legalized.

What did the NHRA tell you? Do you think those guys will allow it if we do?

They already have no external pumps, tire size limitations, and a few other things that we do not adhere to, are you guys willing to make a change like that before every race?
That is if you are running both series.

Brian, James, Howard, Tracy?

Just got an email from Jim Skelly - he will be speaking with Mike from G Force regarding the shifter within the next couple of days to make the decision - he mentioned that from what little he knows about the shifter it appears to fall within the rules in place but will have a solid answer sometime next week.

less chance of misshifts is the biggest reason behind it. mainly for dog boxes but will work nicely with syncro trannys.

Is this mainly a drag racing application or could this be used on a road course also? Being that you can downshift easy I would assume it could be used for
both, or am I retarded?
