I hope that you plan on tuning that setup very well and even then I wouldn't try pushing 12psi all the time on a bone stock engine. From the looks of your parts list you're trying to fab up a homebrew-ish turbo kit. The HX35 is equivalent flow-wise to a T61, 62-1, ect ect. It makes big power numbers, upawrds up 600hp. Since I don't see any forged internals in your setup I'd recommend going with an HX30, it's much more stock engine friendly. Especially seeing how you have a 91 intergra that most likey has over 150k miles on it. The HX30 spools very fast and puts out the same power as a mid-sized t3/t4 turbo.

Hellz yea dude. Bastid spools nasty fast from what I've heard, makes the power too. GTi-R eh, when did you pick that up?

Well, actually, I just rolled over 106k on my car. And yes, I will be tuned, xenocron is being really helpful with that...but thats not even my question or concern, I know the limits of LS's. I was just wondering if the HY will be able to do 300whp with a nice solid tune. Also, if anybody wants to purchase one of these turbos you could contact ht member b18bturbo, he's got a source for these, and his prices are great!

The HX35 and the HY35 both have the same compressor wheel/housing, just different exhuast turbines/housings. Both will make 300whp with ease.

Great, thats what I thought, just wanted to hear someone else say it I guess...haha. Think I would have to go to a diesel aftermarket store to find a flange for the hy if it doesn't come with one? I need to make up my downpipe and I know the hx uses a v-band, but from what I've seen, the hy doesen't. Also, are the hx and hy oil and drain fittings the same?

AFAIK the HY35 uses the stadard T3 flange just like the HX35, any T3 manifold will bolt up to it. They both uses the regular T3 styles oil drain flange.

However the HX and HY compressors are almost 9" in diameter at thier widest points....That makes it a bit difficult to get proper fitment. You are going to have to do some radical modifications to the front of your car to fit the turbo and I strongly doubt that your choosen turbo manifold will angle the HX/HY properly. You'll be hitting the block with the turbo. I have a shitty SSAC manifold on my setup, I ended up rotating the turbo flange around 30 degrees just to make clearances.

My CRX front end and your Integra share a alot of similarities in design under the hood. You will most likely loose your A/C if you haven't gotten rid of it already. Since you've got a DA chassis you'll prolly have to get a new front cross-member to have any room to route a downpipe(especially a 3") and a 1/2 width radiator...those items are a minimum.

Well, it is true that our cars have many similarities, but since you've got a b swapped into your crx there is significantly less room than in an integra engine bay. My friend has a b16 swapped EF and i've got easily twice the room from the front of my motor to the radiator than he does. And you are correct about the AC, its coming off. My BMCrace manifold places the turbo at kind of a "forward angle" so i'll see if its enough. I'll post everything once its done. I'll definitly come back to this thread if i've got any problems when i'm putting it together. Thanks for everyones support!

Usually people just weld the wastegate "flapper" closed and run an external gate.

I've heard from some local guys that HX35's are ballbearing. Any truth to this?

Nope, they aren't ballbearing, but they are rumored to have wheel technology as good, if not a little bit better than the garret GT series...BTW drum, how's it feel so far?

also it was rumored that holset bearings are sickly designed not only to handle high rpms....but copious amounts of boost....should be a really good turbo on any high revvin motor...it sounds soooo purdy too..mine is missing the silencer ring and have a huge k&n on the thing.
