OEM radios are cheap, and I am pretty sure you can put the AP1 radio right into your S. You will need the code though, so make sure you get it with any radio you buy. FYI: The factory head unit and speakers SUCK.

I have an opportunity to get a oem radio from an 07 S. Its xm ready but i dont have the xm kit or anything. If i wanted to, could i use this radio and cd even though its xm ready but not have the xm stuff installed? It should still work fine right?

Not sure if the '04-'06 AP2 HU and speakers are the same as the '07+, but I find the '07+ not bad at all. It's not great, but I can hear everything fine and distortion free with the top down at 75mph. Plus I can't find a good aftermarket HU I like with orange illumination.

You have speakers in your roll hoop's so you are obviously going to get a better sound. The newer HU are much better as well I am sure, that was a major complaint with older S2000's.

Now to go along with sound, My '06 has great sound. Probably the best "stock" system I have heard in awhile.
