I'll probably wait until they are a couple years old and swap mounts and harnesses are available. I can't see having a hybrid honda for more than its warranty life.
But then what about emissions? coould you get this car to pass with a k20a2 in it?

I already get ~35 mpg on the highway in my stock 06 Si (70-75 mph on Michelin X-Ice2 snow tires no less), so I'd hope that by driving the CR-Z "lightly" on the highway that you could be able to get at least 50 mpg.
Still, I'd like to take one for a test drive once the get stateside in fall of next year.

If honda offered an Si model of the CR-Z with any kind of K20 engine it would definately be a hit to the tuner world. That alone would get me to think about buying one.

Most of you guys make Honda owners look bad. Hopefully you don't talk like this in real life.

I love that CR-Z concept! When it reach the U.S. soil and starts selling at my closest Honda dealer, I'm going to trade in my EG Si. But, I know its just a "concept car", some parts of the car won't look like that. Honda might change-it-up a little bit.

If the FT-86 drops in FY2011, i would expect Team Droo-P to unveil one for D1 at the TAS round 1-2 in late January 2012. Who wants to place bets? Yoshioka driving it.
i think that crz would weigh 2600, maybe a little less with a K20a2 swap and no other weight reduction. would probably run about like a gutted out rsx type s with a stock motor. nothing to write home about, but an excellent car to send your daughter to college with. |

A sports car by name definition is a car used for sport. Not a car that accelerates sub 13'' 1/4mile and can impress all your buddies at the local coffee shop. Its a car that can be used on track and that puts a smile on your face the whole time. ![]() the crz looks tempting and i cant wait to test drive one |

<sigh>
dumbass amurrrkins huh? sports cars by definition arent 'cars used for sport'. there are guys who race riding lawnmowers, at sanctioned events. there are guys who race civics in Macau every year. neither or sports cars man. sports cars, to me at least, are cars that cut little or no economical corners in the pursuit of performance. if sometime during the design process they said "it would handle a little better if we did this, but that might make the price a little out of the range of a college student....' then its not a sports car. think nsx. gtr. read about that new hachi. looks to me like subie just didnt want to put their name on something that wasnt AWD, and yota was within earshot. |

Thats the mind set that never brings the Type R to the US. Few people in the USA would spend 30k on a 'slow' civic with 'only' 225hp. They could care less that it laps faster then a R34 GT-R, FD RX-7, and Evo VI. Honda even gave us a test with the CR and Mugen Si, and nobody gave a shit. They Arent 300hp AWD. Id rather drive a 100hp miata/civic on track then a 350hp evo/sti on the street anyday

The obvious compromise solutions are right there under our noses!! If you can swing it, you can get a 305 HP AWD Honda that'll lap faster than a 365 HP SHO at every track it's been to so far. If you can't swing it, well there is still that marvelous 200 HP Civic with a Torsen axle that you can have a blast in and still get close to 30 miles per gallon. I don't know why people are always acting like there's something better than Honda. For the average common sense, everyday user, I don't think there is any more obvious choice than Honda.

I think it would be fine with 140 hp plus IMA, and the lighter the better.

To each there own but there is no other company that has a much pride and passion, has the engine power and technology,has hand built motors etc as honda for under a average mans price. The only other companies I've seen with these traits are BMW and Ferrari, both of which have a MUCH higher price tag |

Everyone wants the CRX back but with a 400hp turbo v6?! I dont get it. 140hp with 10-20 extra HP's will be more then enough. The EM1 civic Si had 160 hp and 111ft/lb and weighed 2600 lbs and wasnt considered to be a dog. The Insight weighs 2700 lbs. The CRZ will not weigh more then that so 2700lbs with 150-160hp and 160-170 lb/ft of tq wont be enough? |
