Default S2000...vs...150 Shot of Nitrous

Hey everybody I finally got my winter project finished and tuned. I have a AEM EMS 1052, Clutch Masters Stage 3, with a Zex direct port WET kit spraying a 150 shot of Nitrous while using a full STANDALONE fuel system. Which includes, Jaz 1 gallon fuel cell, Walbro inline fuel pump, Aeromotive return style fuel pressure regulator and using Q16 race gas.

Full list of mods...

2.2 liter Ap2 Motor, Zex Direct Port Nitrous Setup, 150 Shot of nitrous, Clutchmasters Stage 3 clutch, Aem Ems 1052, Full Standalone Fuel system, Q16 race gas, -141lbs lighter than stock, Ap1 Flywheel, Megan Racing Test Pipe, N1 muffler swap, Injen short ram intake, with K&N cone, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, Bottle pressure between 875-900, Zex Bottle Warmer, Zex Purge Kit, Zex Remote Bottle Opener, NGK 7405 ( 2 steps colder )

The nitrous kit pulls fuel from this standalone fuel setup rather then pulling it from the stock fuel lines using a T fitting, which was my problem on 125 shot tune because of the fuel pressure drop when the nitrous came on. And was causing my N/A tune to be affected by this not to mention not a sufficient setup for that high of a shot. Here's a picture of the fuel setup.

PREVIOUS-----Dyno numbers from 125 shot were 370whp 270tq and 235whp 163tq N/A

CURRENT/TODAY-----150 shot of Nitrous and Q16 race gas yielded 390WHP 324TQ and 215whp 152tq N/A

THE DYNO WAS RECALIBRATED since my 125 shot tune last august and now reads lower than before, I use to have 235whp N/A now I have 215whp N/A so you can see how this would affect my new numbers, but I would RATHER have it be accurate than inflated.

Vtec comes on at 4800rpms the Nitrous comes on at 5600rpms and shuts off at 8000rpms. Fuel cutoff is 8300.

We did a few pulls with the 150 shot then tried to do 2 more and the engine kept cutting out?!? So John checked the spark plugs ( 2 steps colder ngk coppers 7405 ) we found THIS!!! :feint:

Melted!!! Either detonation or extreme heat from the timing. I brought extra plugs with replaced the plug and continued on with out any more problems.

We also wound up changing the 150 shot jet in the distribution block for the fuel to a 175 shot jet...this actually helped improve the afr's when the nitrous came on and let me use LESS fuel pressure ( 50psi ) to 40psi which is what the ZEX kit recommends at the fuel nozzles.

For all you critics I took a compression test a day before my tune and it yielded 240psi on all four cylinders. It has not changed throughout the ENTIRE time I sprayed 100 and 125 shots on this motor all together at LEAST 15-20 times, plus tuning. And now TODAY after the tune I yielded yet again...240psi on all four cylinders!!! Its all in the tune.

Here is a dyno pull, nothing fancy.

Here's my car...

My goal was 400whp all Nitrous but with me having STOCK header, STOCK PIPING, a test pipe and muffler swap...my exhaust has become my limit at this point. I will be looking into getting a 3 inch dual exhaust in the future. But far as I'm concerned its 400whp

Again thanks to John my tuner down at Innovative Motor Works for doing another great job tuning my car and taking the extra time to inform me what he's doing and answering my questions! I HIGHLY recommend him to anyone, he is located in Carlisle, PA.

nice job....love the instant power that shot of nawwz gives.....love your clean setup. good stuff......its not everyday someone with a nitrous kit actually takes the time to put it together right.

just a question for you.....how long before you get sick and tired of filling those bottles when they are empty?

Thats a hell of a setup. Actually looks like someone spraying knew what they were doing...

I really wish honda kept the S2000 in production. I really would have liked to see those engines reworked and tweaked etc. I really thought the F20/F22C would have caught on tuner/swap wise... but i guess its all about the incredible K's

I rarely spray my nitrous, only against fast cars with 450whp+ ...MAYBE 1-2 times a month if that I use it VERY conservatively. Its there when I neeed it and not when I don't its the exact kind of setup I wanted. If you look up my youtube name- bluemetals2k I have some vids of 100 shot and 125 shot races but they don't have the same fuel setup I have now. And I haven't got a chance to spray the 150 yet. Suppose to be taking on a 500whp+ mustang soon. On my 100 shot I edged out a win against a supercharged cobra making 465whp 475tq.

You don't see a setup like that every day. I would have preferred to spend my money on a good turbo build & made 400+ on a stock motor.

sold the car almost a year ago, it was still running great and still had 240psi on all cylinders the day I sold it. I would assume its still running if the new owner has taking care of it the way I did. I'm currently building a higher shot of nitrous on my current project s2000.
