I need 03 ex head unit specs/ speaker info
I have to replace the old trusty stock cd player head unit with a new Pioneer cd player. I was wondering if the stock speakers could handle the new head unit for awhile(50x4 watts). I saw 2 links on replacing the front and back speakers and I could not believe how small the little neodymium magnets were. Do the speakers still sound good, or do they just blow up
A Jl 12w6v2 is waiting on this new headunit
It have not been on Honda-tech in a long time. I'm a little rusty on the search. Any links or info would be great. Thanks in Advance.

Nope, There all still working, including the 2 tweeters. I listen to just about everything but I guess I will have to lay off the dubstep for awhile. I was still wondering how much power the stock head unit puts out.

Stock headunit is low power. My guess is prob 20watts or so. Your speakers will be fine. Most people I know never replace them simply because they don't want to spend the $.

hahahaha, I mean the stock speakers are not like my Klipsch surround sound system I built in my house but they are still working. One of my friends has a 03 lx sedan and his stock stereo sounds much worse then mine, and I noticed there were no tweeters. I'm guessing the ex has a better system then the lx

If they're still working, you'll be fine, but they're sound quality is pretty terrible. I replaced my stock HU before I got a chance to do the speakers and it sounded like they were trying to play through mud.
Fronts are really easy to replace, probably about 1/2 hour per side if you're not used to taking the door panel off. Rears are a little harder but still not rocket science. I got some pioneers for the front for about $60 and about the same for the rears; although they weren't a great brand but they're much better quality than stock.

I would replace the OEM speakers with something better, especially if you're going to install a sub and amp combo. The OEM speakers are junk and they'll begin to fart unless you keep it at a low volume. And hey, let's face it, there's no point in upgrading the audio system unless you like to play it loud!
If you want better sound than what you have.. upgrading is a must. You don't have to buy top-end speakers either. Just about anything is an improvement over the (paper) stock speakers.

**I know this is an old thread just did not want to start another one**
I also have an 03 EX. I was just wondering what size tweeter would fit in the stock sail panels? I've done research and some people say stockers are .75 and some say they could fit 1" tweeters in there then there are others that say it would need some modification to get them in the stock sail panels. Anyone know the definite answer?
I would post in the audio section but I wanted answers coming from specifically 7th gen owners.
