92-95 D SERIES TRANNY IN 99 CIVIC, SHIFT LINKAGE PROBLEMS....NEED HELP
I am putting a 92-95 d series tranny into my 99 dx I got the tranny dropped but I noticed that there is a difference in the shifter linkage that goes into the tranny. My 99 tranny has the linkage rivieted to the little tube that selects the grears, but the 92-95 tranny just has a shaft comin out that has the hole drilled through it for the bolt that connects the linkage. I know this swap is done all the time so what is the solution? Come on guys help a girl doing her own work out!!!

it is just a weight added to improve all aspects of shifting... its about as big as a roll of diimes right... that tranny swap wiill go straight into you 99 no problems at all you can use your stock linkage or linkage out off the 92 its no different

so can I just grind off the rivet that hold the shift linkage to the 99 tranny, and use a long bolt to fasten it to the 95 tranny?

move the rubber, thing from the 99 tranny, and you will notice the pin that you need to remove..just like in the 92 tranny.

O.k., this is in reference to the linkage on the top(gear selector). You have to pull the little boot back and that will allow you to access the "bitch pin". That is what the little hole in the 92-95 tranny's selector is for. You will have to get your car up pretty high, then you need a heavy hammer and screwdriver(I use a phillips head driver) to smack it out of there. Does that answer your question?

Oh ya, you'll need to hit that sh*t really hard to get it out. Use some penetrating lube to make it a bit easier.

when u pull the boot back be sure to take the c clip off to see the pin . then press or beat it out with a punch and do not shroom the head of it before u get it started. it will make it hell to get out. the whole sleeve will slide off the shaft. and do everything again in reverse. not too hard few hrs ur done
