I don't think it was his fault, just shipping the ammo loose is all.

how many did you buy, and how many were bad?

FWIW, I bought some Black Hills 168gr match ammo for my .308. After I got home with it, I looked closer at the box and they were factory seconds. There weren't any in the box that didn't have some kind of dent in the brass. I went ahead and shot them out of my Savage 10 with no issues

The brass swells to your chamber when the shot is fired, so whats the damage if it has to pop out a dent. I wouldn't reload them though.

430 rounds. Didn't go through all of them, but like a third of the rounds have those kinds of dents in that area or on the body of the round.

I don't know sliced beard, but I'm willing to bet the ammo looked like that before he shipped it. The odds of damage during shipping causing your casings to look exactly like reloads from a rifle that had ejection problems seems highly unlikely.

Don't listen to Kengs, he's an idiot. I'd shoot the shit out of that stuff. Just kidding, don't do it. I'm sure you might recall the shitty reloads I fired through one of my weapons a few months back.

From what I recall, it took a lot of wd40, a cleaning rod, a hammer, and about an hour of my day. You don't want to go through that shit man.
