Default Door Defroster Vents

Hi All,

I have a new to me 90 civic HB, with 146000 original miles, from the 2nd owner. I have made contact with the 1st owner... and its all good.
I am slowly cleaning it up, the 2nd owner did not take care of it.

I have a problem that the door defroster vents do not work. I looked underneath the dash and it looks like they are not hooked up to anything.

Any ideas what and where they hook up? Where the tubes plastic, or what?

Any help would be appreciated as the "other" cars get the garage and its getting cold here in the Portland area..

I appreciate the help

door defroster vents? you mean the vents that direct the air right. does your blower motor work? if it does check for clogging. both on the door and where the vent meets the dashboard. also check the selector just above the coin drawer (or what ever its called) just below the vent

i know what you are referring to, but like i said they are just chambers that direct the flow of air coming from the blower motor. just make sure they are lining up right. thats all they are is plastic. make sure there are no obstructions on the dashboard side. there will be a cover on the side of the dashboard, i believe its held in with just 1 bolt/screw.
