I don't know, but I haven't seen a Status seat in any racecar yet. What about a Sparco Circuit or Circuit Pro? I love my Circuit Pro and it has certification.

JDM ITR seats are reclinable, and not really comparable to what we're talking about here. But yes, the others are not FIA approved, and you won't see them in my car

the guy selling those seats posted a status ring seat in the first picture and an up close view of a laguna seat in the second. thats what makes me wonder if status ring seats are now fia approved or that guy selling those seats is falsely advertising.

are recaro spg fia approved?

Yes.

I am fairly sure that every fixed back racing seat Recaro Sells is FIA approved.

The same goes for Sparco, Race-Tech, Cobra, and maybe a few others just sell FIA approved seats. (fixed back seats for racing)

I wouldn't buy a seat if you haven't sat in it.

For me, the sparco, and race-tech seats just aren't comfortable.

The Sparco's just don't fit me good, and the race-tech's don't have enough lay back built into them.

The Recaro SPG (now it looks like it is called the Profi or something) was a super comfortable seat for me. I then upgraded to the pro-racer hans and it is even more comfortable.

But every person is different and likes different things. So it is best to try a seat out first.

:light bulb:

Send status a email asking them if/which seats are approved.

There website indicates only ONE modle is approved.

thanks to dave. for posting this link

http://argent.fia.com/web/fia-public.nsf/D7050711553B12ADC12575F60035B089/$FILE/L12_Approved_seats.pdf

the status Ring and laguna are approved.

make sure you get one with a sticker though, if it doesn't have the sticker it doesn't count.

The ring just got approved this year, i think thats how the chart works.
