I bought the explicit speed kit but had to modify it cause my alt was hitting the turbo, just used some scrap metal and a 3rib belt, if you do a custom mount make sure you have a belt for mocking up, I had to redo it cause there wasn't a belt that would fit.

So far it's been reliable, just done a few drives down the road street tuning, no abnormal things(yet..). I used a alt from a 88-91 crx I think.

Take a couple more pics if you can, I think we have it figured out, might relocate it.
Thanks

I don't have any more close up shots, about 13h drive away, for alignment I left the upper explicit mount stock and just modded the lower mount, eye balled it. Using a single belt euro crank pulley.(same as stock one but meant for one 6or5 rib belt). the 3 rib I'm using for the smaller alt hasn't wondered on the pulley either.
edit: haven't taken this over about 6000rpm yet, not home enough to tune it.

every mount I have seen is way to low, it hits my intake for the velocity stack. I think we have it figured out finally, to bad the tracks last night if Friday.. Looks like ill be going to the 1/8 mile track, when its open.

I know someone with 1000hp using these rods and many other 800hp, they'll be fine. 9:1 compression.
Thanks

In another thread, you mentioned that you had removed the door bars. Do you mind sharing how you went about doing that? I need to remove mine, and I'm trying to figure out a way to do it without damaging the door skin.

Drill out the spot welds,(or whatever u call em) then get a torch to cut thru the bars.. Have water spraying on the paint side to help from messing up the paint. It takes a few hours, but it's still weight that's not needed. You can deff tell when u take them out, the doors are alot easier to shut, lol. I think it was around 30lbs for both.

We have but it's cool, I don't mind helping. Just take it slow and have one other person help.
