Correct. Billie Jean I have only seen one or two that was "not live."
But if you watch the rest of this DVD, there were a few songs that I had hope it would be live. Black and White for example. Only Heavy D's portion was live (by another guy). I have never seen/heard B&W live. Not that I watched everything out there. |

Black or White was only performed live until the end of the UK leg of the Dangerous Tour in 1992. The concert that is on DVD *Dangerous - Live in Bucharest* was after this part of the tour. Here's video of a live performance early in the Dangerous Tour The last time Black or White was performed live was in 2002 at the Democratic National Convention fundraiser at the Apollo Theater. Unfortunately, due to copyright issues, video of this part of the performance is hard to find. Photos from the performance: http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...ago122/bow.jpg |

Remember the Time 1992 - Dangerous Tour Rehearsal - Completely Live In the Closet was only performed as a snippet during the HIStory Tour. In the Closet 1996 - HIStory Tour - Lip synced except for the spoken verse Smooth Criminal was only song live during the Bad Tour *and some of those are only live at the end 3rd of the song*. This is an audio clip because there hasn't been an official DVD release of the Bad Tour yet. Smooth Criminal 1988 - Bad Tour - Completely live You Are Not Alone has never been performed completely live, it's usually 70% playback and then he sings the rest. You Are Not Alone 1999 - Live part starts at 2:30 |

Keep seeing the previews for this when I go to the movies. The sound is bad ass. I might have to go see it just because of that. Much better than my setup in my apt.
![]() No shame in liking MJ's songs. |

Saw it this afternoon and will see it again on Saturday.
Well worth a look for non-fans too. BTW, the majority of the songs are sung fully live. |

GLD's review.
- For the casual fans: Movie is like watching videos of his performances. There is really no story here. It's not a documentary or even "behind the scene" type of movie. If you got the $9 to spend, watch it. If you don't, rent the DVD. - For the fans: Some remake, and new intro to original classics. I like the new versions better. It's like added 4 wheel disc, coilovers, and EFI to a 72 Olds 442. You can see the creativity in his work. A tiny glimpse of what he is like on stage. How he does his magic. MJ is still a bit illusive, but you see the love for the people he is working with. You see how a 50 year old man still got the moves, but note that he is not 25. There are no groundbreaking signature moves. Because this is rehearsal, maybe he was saving them? Must see. - Hard core fans: Like myself, I was a bit disappointed because I could not buy tickets to the concert. Whatever the cost, I would have attempted to go to see it in person. This was it.

Just got back from it and I can honestly say that this will be a DVD I'm going to buy. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. If you even remotely liked MJ's music from the 80s and 90s you'll find yourself mouthing along to the songs and tapping your feet. I even sung along out loud (had the entire theater to myself at 4PM on a MOnday afternoon
)Just the little bits and pieces they show of the behind the scenes footage and the way the dancers were reacting towards MJ while he was on stage doing his solo thing was bad ass. The new Thriller video was cool as well. I give this movie a big "thumbup: Go see it. You've got a few more days before it's out of the theaters. |

^ Due to some limitations on how long "This Is It" has to be in theaters before it's out on DVD, Sony can't push the DVD release for the Holiday rush (even though that's exactly why they put the 2 week window for the theatrical release, don't ask - it's a long story...)
From what I understand, it will be out on DVD in late January and contain performances of songs not seen in the theatrical version (Stranger in Moscow, Dangerous, Dirty Diana, and a couple others I'm waiting for confirmation on.) |

More (songs) is always better, especially since it's not in the movie.

I've heard good things about this. My parents saw it and highly recommend it (they're big MJ fans like I am).
Seeing his History tour at Wembley was probably the best night of my life. I was only 9 or 10! Burst in to tears like a little girl when he came on stage. The only other time I've spontaneously cried like that was when I got a playstation! haha |
