I need some Information for doing a b18c1 turbo

hi there i am planning on doing a b18c1 turbocharge and i need to know what parts i need to get and what i need to switch out of the engine in order to boost 12 to 13 psi and i what to do so that i do not blow my motor or my turbo...also i need to find a complete turbo kit at a good low price not a turbo kit that is going to brake my bank also i have already heard the stories about ebay turbos so please dont recommend those i just need a good top brand turbo kit ...so help me out guys thanks...

For your turbo build you'd want a strong bottom end, with the amount of PSI you plan on running, you don't need to do too much top end work. If I were you, I'd go with a lower compression piston, look into piston rings, rods, ect. You may even want to think about sleeving the block, you should be ok around 12lbs but anymore then that I'd be looking into having it sleeved.

The build shouldn't cost that much, but varies from which kind of parts you choose to use. Where you'll run into money is in the turbo kit itself, the tune, and the labor cost if you are having a shop do the work.

thanks could you recommend me some sites for the low compression pistions or what mm pistons i would need and how much sleeving of the block i would need to do...thanks again

What's wrong with eBay turbo kits? Plenty of success stories. Sure they're crap, but they work!

you dont really need to build anything. 12-13 lbs on a stock motor would be fine its all in the tune thats gonna make or break your motor. Theres people on honda-tech making 400+ on a stock motor....its all in the tune. But if you want to build just to be safe a block gaurd will be suffecient. And dont go to low on compression maybe 10:1 or 9:8 you dont wan anything crazy with either wiseco or je pistons with eagle rods. And just upgrade the valve train (thats easy considering theres a wide selection of good companies skunk 2, ferrea, super tech, etc..). It will also be cheaper if you piece a turbo kit together rather than buying a whole kit...

First of all, you need a complete turbo kit and a set goal for whp.Telling us you want to run 12-13psi doesn't mean much.Running 12-13psi on a t3/t4 turbo is different from running 12-13psi on a 57 trim.If you want to run a small turbo with 12-13psi, then you won't need to worry about building the block.B18c1 block has oil squirters so you'll be fine.Then you'll need all the side accessories that makes that turbo kit run well such as injectors (you can run the stock cc injectors but it's highly recommended that you run at least a 340cc correct me if I'm wrong), low compression pistons, correct oil, re-gap spark plugs, probably new distributor, new spark plug wires, new spark plugs (these are for dyno purposes) etc etc.Not to mention you'll have to do some extra side work as well such as drilling your oil pan and adding oil lines, retarding/advancing your timing, wiring for your air-to-fuel ratio and oil temperature/pressure meters.Also to add, if your car and motor is an obd2 you need to do an obd2 to obd1 conversion so it can be dyno.There is a lot of stuff going on when it comes to building a correct turbo setup.Search the forums well and conduct your research thoroughly.There should be helpful forums on this topic that will outline more than just the basic stuff I have mentioned.

PSI means nothing in terms of goals, pick a HP goal and build the car for that. However much boost it takes you to get that goal will be what you end up running.
