You could be misfiring, i would check spark plugs, spark plug wires, dizzy, dizzy cap, and dizzy rotor.

I had a similar issue in my 92 GS-R like you said i would come off a red light and the car would lack power like crazy. I would even pin the pedal down and it would slowly start pickin up and then all of a sudden BOOM all power back. I dont know why but all i did was replace my main fuel relay never had the problem again.

well all the ignition stuff is almost brand new...the car sat but id go out every couple days and start her up...partly to keep the gas fresh and stuff, but mostly just because i like the sound of her and i felt cool sittin in her! LMAO!
but yea i just replaced the plugs yesterday and it helped alot, but still has a slight stumble. then pulled the fuel psi reg. off my other teggy to see if mine was bad and my fuel psi did jump up a couple pounds but is still slighty low. that also helped a touch. ima snag the map sensor off my other teg and see if it changes anything...ill post back. oh yea...only does it once its at op. temp...not when its cold.

yes and its also ground out with two gauge cables off the valve cover, therm. housing, fuel rail, and block. all stock grounds are tight.

well i packed my bike up and headed to the skatepark, when about halfway there a CEL kicks on. its a code 43. started stumbling again under a load. sounds like its running off three cylinders when this happens.
oh yea and my temp gauge is jumping around from cold to op. temp. it just bounces back and forth...ugh! this is pissing me off!

thinking about it...coolant temp sensor goes out, sends a false reading to the ECU, which changes the fuel map accordingly, therefore the 02 sensor picks up a rich reading and throws the imfamous code 43????????
anyone? am i way off?

That makes sense. I would try swappin the temp sensor. How many miles on your motor? Might be time for a new one anyways. And temp sensors read to the ecu in Ohms, so if its bad, you can always check the ohms at the plug and check it to the manual, Or buy a new one, cheap fix. Good luck

new symptom...
on the way to and from a party tonight i realized that my tach was figiting. if i was cruising between 2-3k (thats as high as i got cuz i like saving gas lol) or accelerating, my tach would bounce a little bit. like if i was cruising at 2400 it would randomly jump to 2700 or so and come back down to 24. it almost does it with the missfires. like at the same time it missfires. ICM or dizzy itself maybe?

Check to make sure that the terminals are tight at the icm. That could be an issue.

i got off my ass and changed the main relay and it did fine for about halfway to the skatepark then started to stutter again...im going to change out the 02 sensor again just to do it. any other ideas though? just to remind you guys, it only does this when it reaches op. temp. when its cold it drives great...

I had the same problem with my and it end up been the ground on the tranny, it looks fine but I checked it with and ohmeter and there was a lot of resistance, also the sensor that sends the signal to the cluster for coolant sensor is not the same that sends the siganal to the ECM, one thing I would suggest is disconnect the exhust pipe before the cat and see if it makes any diffrence, the cat could be clogged it might be a lot of work but its worth the shot.
