Default 25th Anniversary Special Issue of GRM will have Type R Buyers Guide

Hey guys, the upcoming December issue celebrates the 25th anniversary of Grassroots Motorsports, and we wanted something special for the Buyer's Guide in this issue, so we chose the Acura Integra Type R. Naturally, ITR owners already know most of what there is to know about their cars, but as an owner myself (and the author of this particular article) I'm still excited to see it in print.

The extra cool bit is that we're doing an all-digital version of the issue, and it'll be available free to everyone. Pass this on to your neighbors, friends, fellow racers, anybody who you think would enjoy the issue. If you don't already get the magazine, you can check a little box and get a hard copy of the issue for free, too.

Sign up at: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/digital/

EDIT: Oh, and as the page mentions, there's going to be some video content for several of the articles, and the ITR guide will have a video.

I hope the buyers guide is informative, accurate, and useful.

Things that are important to me:
1) Buy from the original owner
2) Make sure it is bone stock, and has never been modified (all matching VINS)
3) Make sure you have all of the maintenance records, and a complete service history
4) Make sure the car was always garaged
5) Lower mileage = usually better!
6) Try to buy from an area that has no salt
7) Understand the EXACT differences between 97/98/00/01
i) Production #'s
ii) Differences in each revision, etc

Most of my requirements are common sense.

I think I made out ok when I bought mine, but I'm still looking forward to next month's issue to see what I may have overlooked when buying.

Same here. I don't think I could have gone wrong buying from a last year of production DC2, with a low badge number, from the original owner?

I hope the day I'm able to afford one I can find an excellent condition R. I would be perfectly fine w/ just basic bolts ons. But how would someone have maintenance paper work if they did the work themselves?
