Default how would i go about troubleshooting a crv's alarm/remote locks

How would I start and troubleshoot a honda crv's alarm/remote locks. The alarm no longer works after the car went to the shop and now it's been way too long to go to the shop and get it fixed.

Is it an OEM alarm unit? What is it doing?

its the oem alarm unit, its just not responding as if there's no power. I've installed an aftermarket one but I have no idea where to start to look for the "brain".

Usually they hide the brain under the steering column area. Check the wiring, sometimes they don't wire them right and they get loose.

I know it might sound dumb but I drive a tow truck for AAA and you would be suprized how many times it is ether the Remote battery or just a fuse.
