My 89 ED...first ever project.
Well, here we go.
When it came time for me to get my first car, my parents let me get whatever I wanted...out of all the nice cars available...I chose this car. I wanted to build a car. I wanted a car that I put love and time into.
What I ended up buying was a 1989 Civic Hatchback. At the time, I knew absolutely nothing about cars. And I really wish I did, haha. I was so set on buying a car with a rebuilt engine that I overpayed when I thought I got a good deal.
I've always admired all the humble people that have popular build threads on here. Not the big money guys throwing huge wads of cash at cars. But the people like me. To think that I am competing against them for views...and everyone in the world is pretty crazy. I just hope I get some feedback.
I have no idea what the hell I'm doing, but I'm going ***** deep with it. You can't complain about your car if you don't do anything about it.
DAY ONE:
Purchased. $2600. I overpayed....by about $2599.
Maaco overspray over factory white...absolutely no prep or primer...it flakes off in the door jams with dust off compressed air cans...the paint on the outside is totally uneven. It's heavy in some spots and thin at others causing my panels to look wavy. Don't EVER get a maaco paintjob.

K, getting some stuff done haha.
First off, getting paint is proving to be very frustrating. The only places that sell duplicolor trim paint is Schucks and Autozone. And they only carry two every week or so...So far I've used 10 cans....do the math.
Pics are dusty. Car sat overnight...Bumpers need to be prepped and bumper coated...wheels need to go in favor of some XXR 501's...wheel wells need to be sprayed with bed liner. Also need to get maaco green overspray off of some of the weather stripping....
Also, roof and right door are not painted...And it looks better in person >.>
