ek mini me swap help
Putting together a mini me with a b7 bottom end a z6 head.
I know I will run into the "half a tooth off" deal, and its suggested
to get an adjustable cam gear.. However cant i just take the crank
timing gear off my blown y8 and put it on the b7 bottom end?

No, but what you can do is use a b7 cam gear i believe. the difference is the cam gears where the key is at. it is off 4.5 degrees.

ya, the only thing that makes the non v tec head belt bigger is cause the head is a bit taller then the v tec head. the v tec head sits a little lower. but don't take my word on the cam gear. let me find this thread i found on it and then you will learn real fast hold on ill post it in a min.

Re: ek mini me swap help
ok, now i am using arp headstuds and if your looking at the front of the block, the rear left stud sticks up like half an inch higher than the rest, is this normal??? Also the dowel pin in the y8 is diff than the z6, and my block and head both do not have dowels in them, will this matter?

also that link will not load up, does anyone have any info on this. I have a b7 block with a z6 head, i have another bad y8 that i can take cam gear or crank timing gear, i figured that if i used the y8 timing gead on the b7 block that it would fix my timing?
