Bingo, the hardest part of the diagnose is "catching it in the act".
And if the problem only happens intermittantly, you can drive around for a week with a fuel pressure gauge duct taped to the windshield and a test light hooked to the Dist. Black/yellow wire, and still not get any better info. Your car is old enough and has enough miles to have all kinds of little problems; ignition switch, ignitor, fuel pump...... the main relay in your car will usually cause problems at initial start up. Best to keep test light and maybe a 12mm socket in the car. That way if the engine does fail to start at some point you can check for power to the dist. or crack open the fuel rail line to see if there is fuel pressure.
