Default Vid of EVO wrecking in to NSX and G35 coupe from the weekend

The evo driver broke the most important rule at the track, never try to get back on the track when you go off! Kinda feel sorry for him though, i dont' know how his insurence company is going do for him. Over 100k in cars completely totalled.

I know my insurance company would not cover me.

Edit: is it normal for cars to be that close to the course, and not behind a wall or barrier of some kind?

From the video, he didn't try to get back on the track. He just swerved off.

2 wheels dropped, he went back on and got traction and spun. He spun out twice before at the event, should have never let him back on.

Whats with the cars being parked practically on the track? I would say the burden for all three cars wouldnt fall on hte evo driver. Eveybody is responsible for their own, and no insurance involved. On a track like that, your car is your responsibilty. So sad, that sucks for everyone involved. Curious to know the outcome...

Anyone notice the passenger in the video grabbing the steering wheel after they pulled over? Whats up with him?

I feel its their fault for parking so close to the track. Ya know? I cant Imagine i would be comfortable parking my car there. It should have been a clear runout in case someone goes off. Very wierd situation, the NSX and G35 should have been there at all.

I know at englishtown when you sign ur tech inspect card theres a waiver on it that you can't sue etown and im pretty sure that insurance doesnt cover track accidents.

thats where they wait for the next session. Besides the evo driver should have just gone off, not tried to recover.

No it's not!
WTF! The Evo had no run off room.

All those cars should've been behind a the pitwall barrier!(this is how we run events only)

If mine happens during a SCCA session mine will cover my damages(to other cars and facilities) but not my car.(better then nothing I guess)

from the video all the evo driver is guilty of is being a bad driver. it will be hard to prove neglect or malice from what the video shows.

i have never been on a road course with a car but with a motorcycle you sign a waiver. i assume auto racing is the same. that stated the nsx and g35 owners better have deep pockets.

i would be shocked if they collect any money from the evo driver.

Man, thats ****ing terrible. If I was one of those cars Id hire a tow truck to drop me off at some curvy road and create an accident scene

At least the E30 M3 wasn't involved. I wouldve cried.

First of all it's a she, and I think she was an instructor of some sort. But if there's one thing that's really annoying, it's someone grabbing your steering wheel.

Damn man... that sucks! If he wasn't that good of a driver, your right, he shouldn't have been allowed out there. But I still don't understand why those cars are literally ON the track.

Thats gonna be a helluva bill.

The instructor drills this in to you, never try to get back on track when your wheels fall off, always go straight off. Pulling the car back on track was a bad judgement. When you have no traction and suddenly grip, you'll spin out and hurt people.

I couldn't tell in the video, but if two wheels dropped he should've just drove straight or let off the throttle.

The current Evo's will give you slight oversteer in a corner if pushed hard enough..so the car should've corrected it's self if he just let off the gas. But either way cars were too close to the track and them not being behind a barrier is enexusable for a race track facility.

As for him spinning..well most folks do that when trying to find the edge of their car's(I did this too when I first tracked my ITR).
But if this was an amateur session all the cars should've been spaced out more with a no passing rule in effect.

Also where are the corner workers?
(I see none in the video)
(all I see in that corner is parked cars..just waiting to get hit)
At TGP we made sure two walls and some distance separated the parked cars from the guys speeding around the track.

It's fascinating.. how quickly.. I mean literally, within seconds... three cars are DESTROYED. Never to be driven again.
