The non-profit Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the US government's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have ratings to help potential buyers decide whether to buy a new model or not. This article examines the Honda Accord's crash test and safety ratings through the views of IIHS and NHTSA. The rating for the IIHS crash test rankings are poor, marginal, acceptable, and good as the highest rank. NHTSA crash test utilizes a 5-star rating, 5 being the best and 0 the worst.
