What's up guys? Been out of the market for a CRX for a while and seems it has changed big time. What seems to be the going rate for one now days? I found one that I think is pretty decent for a decent price, but would like you guys take on it. What's some things to keep an eye out for on these lovely old ladies as far as common issues? I would assume the suspension if not replaced would have almost had it.

Appreciate the input and details to follow on prospective rex.

I'm going to pick up this beauty tomorrow and me and my buddy plan to use it as a track car. Its not the prettiest Crx ever but will get the job done.

The guy I'm getting it from, said his brother ran it low on oil and the cam locked up. So I assume it bent some valves and needs a new head? Or what else could of happened?

It has the stock d16a6 motor and trans. We plan on picking up a turbo kit cheap and have it ready for the track in the spring for less then $500 total investment. The driver quarter panel is glazed coated and just needs sanded.

Btw it has a clean title! Any feedback is appreciated.

I just got back from the junk yard and found about 5 untouched D16A1's and D15B7's. My question is can I use any of the parts from either of these engines to swap my D15B2 to MPFI or do I have to find the parts from a D16A6, cause that's all I see in the write ups? Also can I use any resistor box or does it have to be from an A6? One more question, is the cam from the D15B7 more aggresive than the B2's and is it worth dropping in? Thanks guys, all help is extremely appreciated.

I have a 1989 Honda CRX HF project that I'm trying to get done. When I bought the car, the person that had it had rigged the blower motor to a toggle switch hooked directly to the battery and the fan itself. i replaced the wires that were cut and plugged them back into the fan, go to turn on the fan and nothing. I'm wondering if I'm missing a ground, or something else?????
I did replace the motor resistor which did not change the situation.
Any ideas or any directions on how to find out?
thanks

Ok, I have a 1990 hatch and I wanted my instrument lights to light up amber. Lots of issues and several blown fuses later I decided to do a custom integrated LED cluster. I wired up a series of amber LEDs so that they are each getting 2v, their nominal power. I took apart my cluster and soldered them into place inside the cluster, right behind the gauges. I plug it in, flip the switch, and voila! An amber cluster that just looked sick as hell.

Then...it started fading. The LEDs just got dimmer and dimmer until I couldn't see them at all, took about 5 minutes. Why would that happen?! I pulled the power for them from my cigarette lighter/radio power, then this morning decided to hook them up directly to the battery and they still won't glow. WTF?

For those who have not seen the build, check my sig. I tried to ask a few questions in that thread but no responses, new thread. Here's the quick run-down:

Th@ wh1p:
1990 Civic LX Sedan
Phoenix Red w/ Black Interior
124K miles
Immaculate for a 90 in and out

Th@ sw4p:
OBD1 B18C1
Y80 Hydro Tranny
Auto to 5 spd
Cable to Full Hydraulic clutch
DPFI to MPFI
OBD0 to OBD1

Okay, she's at the point now where I'm simply waiting for parts and looking for a few small things. Once everything is here, a friend and myself are going to throw it together over the course of a weekend. I've been doing a SH!T load of research but I haven't been able to find definite answers to a few small questions.

Below are a few but I'm sure more will come up as I think of em. I'm going to use this thread in conjunction with the build thread for asking tech related questions. So here we go

1) What should I keep from the original A/C system as I intend to re-install before next summer? Texas summers suck b4llz.

2) I'll be using the adapter plate for the clutch master cylinder. Was considering making my own hard line but have now been looking at running a steel braided line from the MC to the SC. Anyone have a problem with a soft pedal doing this? Recommend a manufacturer?

3) What range of models and years can I take the shift assembly from? The assembly that mounts the shifter to the linkage to the car.

4) Read somewhere (can't find it now) that using the OEM B-Series exhaust manifold, it will bolt up to the existing D series downpipe. Just want to confirm this. If it's not the case, no worries. I have a DC Sports stainless that I can mod to fit. Retaining stock exhaust for now. Just don't want to go out and buy an exhaust mani if it won't work.

5) I'm going to have to upgrade my fuel pump, correct? What OEM pump works best with no major modification to the fuel system?

More questions will undoubtedly come but there's a start. Thanks in advance for any insight.

-Kyle
