So my transmission has been messed up:( and now I am faced with the question; Get a cheap car like a used prelude, integra gs-r; or get a new automatic transmission or a transmission swap to a manual? I would prefer the swap. Do manual transmissions cost less than automatics and rerouting the parking break, clutch pedal, and new gear box cost more or less than just getting an automatic tranny? All opinions are welcome but if anyone is a professional skilled mechanic who has done things like this can you tell me what you believe the best option is? Thank you

Has anyone replaced OEM headlight assembly with a "OEM style" deal? I need a passenger side headlight, and cant find a reasonably priced OEM used one. Was wondering how the Depot replacements were. I also need 1 fog light, and was wondering if anyone has used the Lexan replacements instead of the OEM glass. I drive a lot of highway miles and do not want to keep replacing expensive glass lenses.

I would buy a new headlight, but would have to buy a pair so they match since mine are a little blasted from highway driving. Not looking to drop 400 on headlights.

I know that the larger sway bar will create more oversteer. Whats going to be the biggest difference in the two for daily driving use ie. pros and cons of both.

I keep reading about tranny problems, but my car shifts great. I do not use the SS alot less though... don't want to create a tranny problem, lol.

I bought my car at 50k and I don't know if the spark plug + wire has ever been changed.

Should I change the spark plugs? What about the wires? Anybody know if you're suppose to change spark plug wires with every spark plug replacement?

Thanks!

I like the look of these cars, for performance daily driving it seems like an overall nice car. However it seems that reliability doesn't seem to hold true with these guys... I've heard plenty of transmission failure problems, sometimes it happening a bunch of times to the same car no matter what, and it crapping out even with a grandmother driving it.

What are the known issues of these cars? What year and trim should I look for and what ones should I stay away from? The budget is low at $6,000 MAX before negitiations but they seem to be very cheap, is it because they have expensive issues awaiting?

I drive my cars hard, but not in a high school kid kind of way. I take care of them as well, but these don't mean enough to me to buy one if I'm going to be repairing expensive crap. It's just a temporary DD that has some nice stuff going for it.

Let me know.
